At first reading of your comment I thought what? and was going to insert an appropriate meme. I'm fine with my mortality, thanks for asking.

No you wouldn't, because they wouldn't believe you. Religion has absolutely nothing to do with evidence, so no evidence is even relevant let alone conclusive.

I think it wouldn't make matters any worse for two reasons. Firstly, it's impossible for such proof to exist. Religion is an untestable hypothesis. Secondly, even if it was possible to prove the existence of a god or gods that would not prove the validity of orders written by people claiming the authority of that god or gods. So religion would remain a matter of faith and there would be no extra reason for people to war over it or be a slave to orders written by people claiming the authority of gods or to destroy science. We have some theists doing one or all of those things anyway and probably always will do. Proof that some sort of god or gods existed in the ancient past needn't increase their number.

With enough visits and context I'm sure we'd be able to translate, it's only a language, not the enigma machine.

Unequivocal evidence of no god - yet some would still believe. However, if evidence suggested there was a god you don't think it would increase the number of followers? We can't have it both ways.

Debate and opinion is good, it's just a shame such threads end up in such religious dogma.

Evidence suggesting that there was a god isn't evidence that any one religion is correct. It wouldn't even be evidence that is is a god, only that there was.

Evidence unequivocally proving that one religion is correct would be a different matter, but why would that inevitably cause "war will be the norm, science will be thrown in to the dark ages and the world will be a slave to their absent landlord." The last, perhaps, but not necessarily the other two. Science could continue and even be seen as holy work on the basis that a better understanding of this hypothetical god's work leads to a greater appreciation of that work and thus a greater veneration of the god. War shouldn't be the norm if one religion is absolutely proven to be entirely correct - what would the war be about?

It's a moot point anyway, as neither proof can exist.
 
Time travel to before I ate pizza so I could eat it again...but would it create a paradox perhaps a mutant gene would be formed giving rise to a Pizza master race?

No it wouldn't because the rules in the OP say that all you're doing is filming something in the past and that you can't interfere with it in any way. All you'd be doing is filming yourself eat pizza which is a bit weird.

I personally would go back to see the day whoever bought the house I grew up in moved in for the first time.

I'm not sure why, but I just think I'd find that really interesting, seeing what the house was like freshly built along with the area around it, as well as the people's reactions to moving into it.

I couldn't really care less about seeing the big bang. I can imagine what it was like and I doubt I'm far wrong. :p

I think it entirely possible that mavity changes over time like waves and that there may have been a brief time when things seemed to weigh less as a result, like when you stand in the sea and a wave comes along and picks you up off the sea floor.
I don't imagine people were floating around like Neil Armstrong on the Moon etc... but I am open to the idea that the constant of mavity; as has recently been proven, is actually not a constant and is actually ripples and could have an effect.

I think you've rather misunderstood the recent findings.

The findings were the result of an extremely rare incident of apocalyptic intensity. Two black holes merged, releasing levels of energy many orders of magnitude greater than anything we have a name for. If the entire sun was somehow instantly converted to energy with perfect efficiency, that would still be less energetic than this event. A supernova is trivial in comparison with this event.

This immensely energetic event had an effect on Earth of about 0.00000000000000000002%. For a fraction of a second.

It is not possible that anything like this could have any relevance to people building stonehenge, the pyramids or anything else. It took state of the art 21st century technology and huge equipment built specifically for the purpose merely to detect it. There's no way anyone in the stone age could possibly have noticed the weight of a 40 tonne block of stone being reduced by a thousandth of a millionth of a millionth of a gram for a fraction of a second, let alone that it could be of any relevance to any building work.
 
I do find it interesting that in a potentially infinite universe, these events should happen frequently, and the grav wave hit us at random periods.

It suggests some form of grav wave exists.

That might prove to be manipulatable eventually. Have they theories on what causes the grav waves?

The results could have been many things, its a theory we know nothing of black holes infact we know absoluty nothing including mavity.

Watching a program about him on CI and it's always fascinating stuff.

I said this on the first page. I am strangely fascinated by the Ripper case. As I live in London, I even made a point of visiting the murder scenes once.

One of Britain's greatest mysteries. Would be amazing to find out which of the suspects it was. I do believe that one of the known suspects was the Ripper, it's just which one.

My favourite is the German Sailor who visited every now & then.
He ended up going to America where I think he was caught for a similar type murder.
That was an excellent well put together documentary.
