I can't get into this band at all and can't see what the hype is all about. They'll disappear after about 6 months once the record company decides to cut it's losses. There's far better bands out at the moment.

Oh, i don't doubt that..but doesn't mean this isn't a good, catchy tune.

Well, that's fair enough..like i said, i'm not suggesting i like them as a band (not heard any of their other stuff)...but their current song is pretty good.

No, but I don't think it is a good catchy tune. It just sounds like the guitarist got an echo pedal for christmas.

to me they sound like a british version of...sum 41 or something. I dont see how theyre 'one of the big things of the year'.

Well, it's because some fool in the record label blew £1 million on a contract with them and has now cranked up the hype machine to try and recoup as much as they can as quickly as they can before the public realises it's been duped. I'm very suspicious of any band that becomes the toast of the media before anyone's really heard of them. It wasn't an Arctic Monkeys/View situation where a buzz was being generated at live shows around the country or from leaked demos.

Buzz is created by money being put into advertising and paid shows that put the band with the most money put into them further up the bill.

I saw The Twang at the Doncaster Dome when they were supporting the Kaisers, personally thought they were absoloutely terrible! not my cup of tea at all.

The chants of Your ***! said it better than I ever could.

I sold a laptop to the lead guitarist, hes alreet but the lead singer is an utter arse, this dude i work with loves them but like Gilly said they sound like they are trying to be people they are not :/

Their current single is the only one i've listened to. I was curious as to where G|mp made his conclusion that they're trying to be people they're not. Very peculiar thing to say i thought.
