The Twang

He was agreeing with me. That song is U2's music crossed with singing from someone like Tim Booth. Nothing at all original.

What a random thing to say. What have you seen/heard or know about them that would back this up? :)

The fact that i have met them and spent the best part of an hour in their company, the fact ive listened to most of their as yet unreleased album, the fact that i know a band that supports them quite often called The Priory

Anything else you need me to base my judgment on?

Cool. Let us know what it's like! Personally, i don't expect much more from them but it doesn't stopping me liking their current single.

Wow they were really good! The support bang were ace but I didnt get their names though.

Feeling hungover without hearing in one ear at the moment :o

Dodgy pictures but i'd actaully had a few beers by then..

I'm in the "don't like his voice" camp. It sounds forced and not natural to me :/

There's worse stuff out there at the moment mind.

Mixed sound for these guys a couple of weeks ago, not sure what to make of them but they brought in an almost full house (1000 or so people) and got the whole place going.

Guitarist seemed like Bill Bailey taking the **** out of U2, if anyone's seen Part Troll, and the lead singers reminded me of the northerners sketch on the Fast Show.

No swearing

Right, I've heard four tracks by them now and think they're even worse than I did previously. And after reading the NME the lead singer comes across as even more of a muppet then I previously thought. I look forward to ignoring their CD in bargain bins at music stores across the country in the near future.

i'll take em or leave em, although they are selling out everywhere, so they must be doing somthing right!

I can't help myself. I'm in a band and I'd consider us as being better than this dross. And as soon as we record our first few tracks I'll be posting them in the guitar warriors thread to prove it.

Do they actually think anybody cares about how many class A's and stella's they can get down them in one sitting?

An average band IMO. Typical 'indie night' club music. the long echo'd guitar music does sound a bit 'U2' i would agree, but then perhaps the guitarist was influenced by U2? Perhaps he listened to a lot of their music when he was taught to play?

I can't think what it is, but they are missing something from some of their tracks, a missing ingredient. Some typical lyrics too. The name means sod all, i can think of a handful of bands who have crappy names but exclusive meaningful music.

Of course a lot of people will dislike them because they have 'The' in their name and they are new.
