The Unofficial Fallout 3 Thread

Just finished it again. :)

Just need to top my Debit Card account up so I can get Broken Steel. Only £4 in my PSN wallet and my normal account is just a cash card. :(

Question - on mothership zeta where you got those invisible like aliens, how do you kill them quickly? because they're owning me when theres like 5 of them and little health left :(

Did you get all your stuff back at the start of the level then you should be able to take the odd two at the start and pick up one of there guns plus remember where the health recharge points are around the levels and just run back to get your health back up to normal if it drops a bit low

Ok, I'm just starting on this game, but I got a bit bored and wasted everyone in Megaton (picking up a scoped .44 from one of the inhabitants made this a easier)

Have I wrecked my chances of progressing in the game ?

:o

Go away and wait 72 hours, doing that resets their aggression towards you and you can enter the town again.

But if you killed the Sherif and/or Moira it does have an impact on the rest of the game

Ahh good - no I don't recall killing either of them, so all should be ok :) cheers :)

LOL! :D

If you got bored there's usually a guy in Moriarty's saloon called Mr Burke, he'll offer you lots of caps to destroy the Atomic bomb in the middle of Megaton, you rig it up with a device, you go meet him out in Tenpenny Tower and then blow the thing sky high. :D

That definitely impacts which ending of the game you receive as well as how characters react to you when they see/speak to you. All the people that you've killed aren't going to come back by the way, so if any of them had information or quests then you're going to have to skip those quests unless a different NPC can give you them. That said although Megaton has loads of inhabitants the only ones you really need are Moira, Lucas Simms, the old guy that works in the water works place and maybe Moriarty if you do his thing side quest for 300 caps. If I was you I would've gone to Paradise Falls and killed all those guys, loads of decent things to loot there and you'll be doing a good thing as well. The Fallout Wiki is a good place to look if you ever get stuck / bored too. :)

My F3 savegame got ruined by a single sodding deathclaw, who nommed and murdered all of megaton when I last played.

I can't remember the full details but at some point in the game I had somehow brainwashed a deathclaw into following me around. I thought nothing of it and later saved my game in my megaton house that night.

Next morning I fired up my savegame only to find my robot butler dead and in pieces. Slightly confused I left my house only to find megaton covered in corpses! All the npcs were dead! There was a lone brainwashed deathclaw wondering around near the A-Bomb and that was it.

As much as I can figure, the deathclaw must have followed me home into megaton somehow and killed a few npcs, which resulted in every npc rushing in to fight it only to die. Sadly Moira was the only person left alive! :( :o

Nah I had quite a few savegames, but somehow I managed to play Broken Steel iirc using only one save from start to finish. My nearest savegame is pre-broken steel so I'd rather not revert that far :)

What a ******* game. Graphics are awesome. I don't usually like long winded game play (Mass Effect type) but this rocks. I only ever stayed inside Vault 101. Outside rocks!!!

Boomerang delivered this yesterday, played it for about twenty minutes, looks very nice, will give it a good whirl later :)

Picked this up (again) as I found the GOTY edition for £20! Have been looking for ages for a nice deal on it so was quite happy about that.

So currently playing through all the expansions now to 'prepare' for the Las Vegas one! :D

well ive 100% the game basically now, ive done every mission, side quest, expansion and found most of the secret guns (alien blaster and the experimental mirv) also got 1550 gamerscore, roll on vegas

I got this goty edition the other day for £14.99 second hand. Not bad! I've been looking for it for ages - so it finally paid off!
