***The Vapers Lounge*** 3.0

Finally moving away from the Elements stuff, just can't afford to keep up with the coils / £30 a week on juice.

Thinking of giving Jackamo Juice a try, I love a good menthol kick, not really a big fan of the doughy flavoured juices, any recommendations?

Red Mist (Red Astaire), Black Mist, (Black Astaire), Blue Berg (Heisenberg) and Jungle Juice are all Menthol (obviously so are Murray Mint and Menthol).
Personally I love Rocket Man and Scream, fresh and creamy, but not sickly.

Is yours a black one too ExRayTed?

I tried again with it this morning. Even more cotton this time and still it dumped it juice.
I think it's going in the bin. It quite clearly doesn't work at all.

Stainless. The shame is it's a decent single coil tank when it isn't dumping juice everywhere :(

Tried changing o-rings, adding an extra one to the build deck to try sealing the juice flow control a bit better..nothing I tried worked other than an inverted fill.

Does any of you chaps know of a good MTL device please? I'm currently using a generic 4ML tank with an Ego 2200MaH battery with 1.8 Dual Coils which does the job but its old and not working as well as it used to.

The T22 seemed perfect, large battery and tank and focused on MTL but it wasn't to be and now I have to start from scratch trying to find something :(

Any help greatly appreciated

I've had much the same journey - tried the Kanger Toptank (not good for MTL), Triton 2 (ok but fussy, coils are "meh") and TVF4 (easy to use, but very airy draw).

Joytech Cubis is the one that I've settled on. Absolute doddle to fill, doesn't leak (well, hasn't yet), coils are cheap, flavour is good, airflow control is pretty good - although it's not obvious that it has it.

Not the prettiest tank, but the best large capacity MTL I've found so far.

Thanks, after tonnes of reading you confirmed what I was thinking.

What coil do you use the 1.5 and which type? There are two types of 1.5 coils for the Cubis just to confuse things!

What mod do you use? I was thinking cool fire 4 or istick 30w

Also what juice do you use in it for a good throat hit? Looking for a recommended web site ideally most seem to do 70/30 and above which isnt as good for an MTL vape, 60/40 and 50/50 is better in my experience for the throat hit

Sorry for all the questions!

In the bin it goes then. Should have done more research before buying.

I find with any RTA I own, if there any wick in the channel at all then it will leak.

I have the black mini and never had an issue with it. Pancake the wick out, fan it across the channels and then trim so it's juuuust touching the top. Fanning the wick across the channels with about the same width again each side seems to prevent the juice from spilling over into the airflow upon filling.

Hope this helps someone :)

I use the 1.5 original cubis coils - I've not tried the LVC Clapton MTL Coils yet, just because they weren't out the last time I ordered any. Definitely will though

I use an iStick 30 - coils run between 8-20w, but I tend to prefer somewhere between 15-18. The Cubis fits on that mod perfectly. It fits nicely on a cool fire 4 as well, I just prefer the smaller form factor of the istick.

Juice wise, I move around between 50-70% VG depending on how the mood takes me. My go-to juices are Elements Pink Lemonade and Strawberry, both 50/50 with a good (but not overpowering) throat hit. They both mix nicely with other liquids as well if I want to sweeten something up.

Vapeclub has a great eliquid-finder where you can change the VG/Nic/flavour and see all the juices they do, I get most of my stuff from them.

Don't worry about the questions, it's nice to see a fellow MTLer in here :D

Fantastic thank you, its so hard to find MTL info among all the Sub Ohm stuff!

I'll try those juices. I dont really understand the difference with the coils but I'll read into it

Do you use Fasttech? I see it mentioned a lot but thought it was a US site

Fasttech is Chinese - delivery is slow, but the prices are great (not as good as they were pre-Brexit, but hey ho :D). 3FVape is good as well. I stick to the genuine stuff, just add "authentic" to any search.

The newer (LVC) coils have a ring that controls the juice flow on the coil itself. I don't know what difference that will make, but I plan on getting some the next time I order, just to see what they're like.

FT delivery is actually pretty quick if you choose the correct method.

Choose 'China Post' when you can, my last order (Tsunami 24) from them took 10 days to be delivered. The DHL cheap option is good too, that was about 11 days from dispatch.

my v2 pro series 3 just arrived, feels very well made etc. Liquid hasn't arrived from jackamoo yet, ahhh the suspense! I'll give the loose leaf cannister a try tonight though :)

I ordered up 100ml of the American Grape Soda juice from Rejuiced while on offer last week. Just got around to trying it this morning on my Cleito / Cool Fire IV TC 100 combo.

I opted for the extra flavor shot which doesn't seem to be making much difference at the moment. Hopefully in a couple of weeks time after steeping the flavor will be much more prominent. I can taste the grape but is slightly overpowered by the sweetness of the juice. The liquid itself looks clear under office lighting, stepping outside a very faint purple tint becomes noticeable, will be interesting to see if the colour darkens in the coming weeks.

Seriously impressed with with the pricing and service Rejuiced offer. I had another look last night, they've changed the weekly special offer to Blue Slush. Having never tried it I would be reluctant to order another 100ml if it wasn't so cheap - £9!! I ordered some, should hopefully arrive with the mail tomorrow.

One thing I've found when it comes to buying juice is that it's a pain to find anything less than 3mg nic.

I bought a bottle of Cosmic Fog Sonrise last week just to keep me going, could only get it in 3mg. It tastes awesome, great flavour, but it kept catching my throat and I was feeling pretty light headed after taking a few big draws. 3mg is a little on the high side for me. 1.5mg from Rejuiced seems perfect, but I haven't been able to find any other stores who sell liquid in this strength.

1.5mg tends to be quite niche as most opt for 0,3,6,12,18. If you find it difficult to get 1.5mg, buy one bottle of 3mg, one of zero and 50/50 them :)

That or get into DIY liquids ;)

That's a good call :) cheers.

Yeah, I think in the long term DIY is the only way to go. While some of these 'premium' American juices are nice, at 8-10 quid for a 30ml bottle I would be spending as much on juice as what I would on cigarettes if I was still smoking.

Any suggestions on the best place to buy the base liquid for DIY? Was watching a few videos on Youtube where the guy recommends Totally Wicked but then I'm sure he's affiliated with them in some way.

Have a look at Cloudy Dreams/Flavour Boss.
They sell all of the flavouring in a bottle (Boss Shot) and you add VG/PG
and Nic yourself. Base VG/PG and Nic get from somewhere like Darkstar.

I made a good post in the 2.0 thread about where to get supplies etc. from:

Scales - http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00ME8VI34

PG/VG and Nic all from Darkstar Vapour - http://www.darkstarvapour.co.uk/

Concentrates are a personal choice, I mostly use FlavourArt, Capella and TFA (The Flavour Apprentice) - http://vapable.com/ / http://thee-cigshop.co.uk/ / http://www.flavourart.co.uk/. Just take note that some contain known 'nasty' ingredients; Acetoin, Acetyl Propionyl and potentially Diacetyl. For the record FlavourArt (FA) use NONE of these ingredients. Stay away from Flavor West concentrates!!

Bottles - https://www.ibottles.co.uk/products/...tubby-tip.html

I'd probably pick up 2 of these to hold your PG and VG. 250ml ones are 45p each - choose the 24mm Natural Nozzle and Captive Cap option.

Recipes: http://www.lediypourlesnuls.com/ - http://vapingunderground.com/forums/...id-recipes.50/ // depends what type of flavour liquid you're after, but I'd probably look at making some fruit ones to start off with, they require very little steeping time (usually shake & vape!).

Recipe calculator: http://e-liquid-recipes.com/create

That should be everything to get you set up mate, if you need any help gimme a shout.

OK, here's a quick one...

When you build coils, you wrap them tightly round a spindle, before pulse-heating them and squeezing the wraps together... But why?

Could I wrap the wire in the threads of a screw and leave the turns separate, like an open spring?
Would that work?
I know a lot of pre-made atomizer heads are built like this - Would it work as well in a Dripper, perhaps?

before two years ago, that's how all coils was and touching coils was the oddity.. but most people have switched to touching coils now a days.

I still use them in certain setups, I have a narrow clapton one in my serpent mini at the moment.

The easy way to make them, is to do the same as a touching coil then just pull it when its still on the driver, bit or tool and it should space evenly and nicely.
