Who Negan killed in the season finale?

So it appears that it will definitely be Rick focussed in the next episode with the 'open the gate' shout and then episode 6 will be Darryl, Sasha and Abraham before they go back to Glen in episode 7 ready for the mid season finale which I assume will end with the introdution of the next threat or character.

My missus rewatched the opening trailer last night and there was definitely Glen clips/scenes in it that haven't aired yet.

I'm not overly fussed at knowing the the theme for the next few episodes but I was thinking this morning, does it really need a 7th series? I can't think of many TV shows that have run beyond 5 or 6 (can think of 24, Prison Break, Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy just of the top of my head and yes there are more) but realistically what can they do to change, enhance or continue TWD beyond this season, I mean the only possible endings are, live happily ever after in a safe 'community' in a world of walkers, all the walkers are cured (impossible now) or they die off or everyone dies and the world resets back to natures control.

Other than that we start going to a new level of madness with super-walkers, I just get the sense they're putting a lot into this season in terms of action and drama and may end up ruining the show by miliking another series or even film.

Can't you tell it's a slow day in my office haha

You are aware of the comics? As long as that keeps going they can have inspiration for the TV show. There's lots in the comics that hasn't been on the show yet so still lots more to do.

I'm aware of the comics but as long as the show continues to deviate away from them the less likely I can see how they can continue the show. The problem is the comics have longevity whereas tv shows generally have a finite lifetime and the rinse repeat model eventually wears thin. Dont get me wrong, I love the show I'm just curious as to how they can continue in the same vein.

I think it's pretty obvious that the intestines aren't his. I'd be surprised if anyone thought they were. The way they shot it is quite clear that they aren't his.

The issue is that there is no conceivable way he can get out of there as he is surrounded by at least 60 zombies. They are going to have real trouble writing a believable storyline for him to get out alive.

That said I fully expect him to make it out alive and unbitten. He's one of the few decent characters on the show so I can't see them killing him off.

He does die in the comics of course but they're not really following them so i'm no sure that is relevant.

I wish people would stop releasing comic info in this thread without giving a gigantic warning before the spoiler.....

I click on general spoilers as I am up to date with the tv show.... Which is what this thread is for. I've clicked on your spoiler and now know the 'likely' outcome of one of the main characters. Thank you.

Yup, instead of pulling Morgan backwards away from the zombie he goes in front of him, turns his back pushes Morgan down and gets bitten. Just seems one of those stupid plot points where the writers just phoned in the ending, as having already established him as more than capable of handling himself it was going to be tricky to easily kill him off. So they go the quick and easy route that totally went against the grain of the episode.

Just a half assed way of killing him off that seems like it was thought of on the spot.

He is still alive, re watch the episode at the point where the guts start to fly, he would have to have a set of juggs on him like beach balls with how far away from his face the chest appears to be which is being ripped open.

Just took a pic showing what i mean.

+1

I think the general consensus is you're not meant to be posting comic spoilers here, if so it needs to be made clearer for everyone i.e in thread title.

The comics are the fundamental source of the show, people who've read the comics will always refer to them, it's like getting annoyed at people talking about Game of Thrones because not everyone has read the books.

If you're going to read forums or arcticles on a show that is based on literature it is invariably impossible to avoid it being 'spoiled' because you haven't read the founding material.

Edit: that's not me having a go but I can't see how you can avoid spoilers for GoT, TWD, Marvel, Hunger Games, Maze Runner, Divergent, Bourne, Bond etc as they are all based on novels or comics so the general knowledge is already out there. I haven't read the comics but I know of them and I know that the show doesn't follow them that close, particularly as the characters are developed for the show. I wouldn't worry about comic 'spoilers'.

Comic book
Just kidding, you still looked though, even though it said comic book, tbf there shouldn't be a need for spoilers in here as people can only have themselves to blame for going onto a thread if they haven't watched the latest episode already

Does this show still follow the comic books?

I agree with Lima. I stay away from these threads until I'm up to date, then come in for a bit of gossip. The last thing I expect is to have the future of the plot revealed.

Yes, but very loosely. The show often goes off tangent but returns in the general direction. However the good news is, not everything is certain as Kirkman himself admits there a few creative ideas from the comics that he 'regrets', which the show does a excellent job of sidestepping and omitting altogether.

I think it's okay to talk about comic spoilers just make it obvious that it is a comic spoiler.

I agree you could talk about spoilers if the show has already covered it but in general it is a bad idea particularly if it a major event in the future arc. It will ruin it imo.

+2 - bignev can you please change your post. Even with spoilers tags that a major plot point which will ruin it for TV fans.

Double checked my grammer to ensure there are no "fixes" from the nazi. :)

Personally I think the use of spoiler tags for spoilers is fine, but it has been made confusing by some people (and it might not have been this specific thread tbh) using spoiler tags talking about things that happened in the most recent episode (although, not recently to be fair).

Now I know actual spoilers are in the spoiler tags, I just wont click them. :)

I'm always gonna click a spoiler tag. It has the 'do not press' appeal my chimp like brain can't ignore.

I love the show and I think there is still scope for at least another couple of seasons.

Last episode was good, I had convinced myself Morgan had killed the Wolves leader, and that would be his turning point of realising you do actually have to kill. How wrong was I!

Same here. I've read some of the comics, to around the prison time and tbf the comics are different enough from the TV show that they can't be relied on as plot spoilers.

They have been used for location settings and inspiration for the main villains but that's about it. For this reason I actually don't care anymore when I read comic spoilers myself.

However I fully agree that if people are talking about the comics then they should be making it clear that it is a comic spoiler. It's just selfish not too. This is the TV show discussion.

They usually do that with the chain of events though... so i'm kinda used to it.

Although I only just caught up with the series... so going back to weekly or waiting a few weeks to find a conclusion to something is going to be annoying when I had them all waiting to be watched *cry*

Same here.. I was quite annoyed that they broke the chain of events unfolding but it was compelling from start to finish. I'm glad the story ended at the end of the episode.. Very good.

It was a good episode no doubt with Morgan's back story but like you, i think it was a little ill placed as it slows the pace of the current arc, particularly when it strings you along with a cliffhanger.

I wished they did a similar backstory for Michonne, the flashback so far was a quick gloss whereas the one "from the comics" would be ideal for a single episode and one of best imo. From the outbreak to what she did to survive and eventually leading to the current group.

They seem to be avoiding storyline that are too specific to the outbreak itself especially anything vaguely like an origin story.
