So this starts in a few weeks! October 7th

And AMC are doing a horrible job of marketing it by advertising it as "Rick Grimes Final Episodes"

What do people think? Excited?

I personally can't see how it goes on without Rick, but I'm sure they'll manage to drag it out. I was losing interest fast in season 7 and 8, but the trailers for this season actually look quite good.

Ermm I'm a bit confused is this like a proper season or a fill in? I didn't think the next season was out till next year?

this follows on from the hill top massacre when Rick captures Negan yeah?

Personally, I think they strung out the Negan saga too long.

Yeah this is a proper season :)

This carries on a few years after the events of season 8. There’s quite a time jump. Hence Rick being all grey and rugged

Not sure how the show will carry on without Rick. It was supposed to be the Rick and Coral story and now that's clearly out the window. Negan story line was clearly dragged on far too long (Like everything in this series I guess). Will have to watch to find out I suppose but I'm not optimistic.

So they'll likely be living in a well developed village with unlimited supplies and not a care in the world still? they've taken away pretty much everything that made TWD so great initially. The last few seasons of gang warfare and any zombies being swatted like flies has been severely boring.

Just watched a new trailer and we now have talking zombies?

The Whisperers apparently

I'm not quite sure how this can be set years after the end of the previous season, weren't Maggie etc planning on usurping Rick's leadership? If so have they done nothing about it in all this time?

Either that or Rick went grey overnight :p Considering all the stuff in the trailer it does seem to point to a good amount of time having passed, though why Maggie and the rest of her band of cronies are still ricks lapdogs to this point is odd.

Another yawnfest, I'm calling it a day once I see how Rick dies.

Who was the kid that died? were we supposed to care about him? 1 minute of Maggy crying about him, 5 minutes talking to his parents, a song and speech for his funeral. Who was he again?

Also, for that matter why are 90% of scenes being shot at night? funeral at night, hanging at night, Maggy taking her baby for a walk in the pram at night. Have they all become nocturnal?

Christ that was boring. Opener to a new series consists of dragging a wagon down the same old road, some nobody dying and another irritating character dying. And the passage of time is shown by some dodgy beard props.

Lol. Again.

That road scene they could have just cleared all the walkers and saved the horse too before ninja stealth zombie ambushed the random boy.

Oh COME ON.

They needed a plough - just go to a library and find a BOOK
Glass floor looks dodge - WALK AROUND THE EDGE
They needed a wagon just make a cart using a couple of farm trailer axles JUST like the one they already had
Wagon stuck in 4 inches of mud why not use some of the saddle horses to help the dray horses
A small group of walkers, small enough that 2 or 3 can take them all down and they panic

These are supposed to be the clever, adaptable ones and once again they all act so stupid.

So so poor.

On the positive, I like the new hard line Maggie and I like the idea of watching how the communities progress.
