The weekend's (22nd) football *there be spoilers*

So what happened in the Arsenal game? Was a player down injured and Spurs didn't kick the ball out of play?

If thats the case then I don't see a problem. I get sick of teams kicking the ball out of play when more often than not, the opposition player that is down is making an absolute meal of it. Wenger himself was moaning about it on Wednesday against Villareal...

Good result for Spurs though, should see them secure 4th place really...

Congrats to Liverpool too!

nothing but when Liverpool always play chelsea the ref is always on the reds side
Yea

1. Tiago Handball - Anfield last season
2. Makelele rugby tackle on Sinama - Anfield last season
3. Makelele rugby tackle on Gerrard - CC final last season
4. Cech foul on Baros - Anfield CL Semi last year (fair enough we got a debatable goal awarded)
5. Gallas Handball - Anfield CL this season
6. Drogba trip on Hyypia - Anfield CL this season
BTW they were all for penalties to Liverpool

The refs are always on Liverpools side, couldnt you see Poll's liverpool shirt under his shirt today?

Two Arsenal players ran into each other. One got up straight away, the other stayed down but got to his feet after a bit of a roll around (just before Spurs had the ball in the net).

Wenger then decided to go toe to toe with Jol. Hmm... wouldnt have been much of a ruck. :)

Indeed, well done Liverpool, Mourinho was just plain cocky with his tactics in the first half!

TBH I think its one of those things that if it happened to your side you would be up in arms complaining. It was Gilberto and Eboue, and the cross came from where Eboue would have been. Didn't Carrick say 'obviously we don't want to score goals like that'

We actually scored when down to 10 men too :p

Well done Liverpool :D I thought we rode our luck at the beginning of the game but once we got the first goal we seemed to settle down. The second goal should've sealed the match but we seemed to go to sleep. Chelsea got a deserved goal but we hung on. Kewell was my man of the match, I thought he was awesome. Sissoko played very well as did Gerrard but I thought Crouch looked awful again. At the start of the season when we played long ball tactics he played very well but now that we've started to play the ball on the floor he just looks out of his depth. His control looks awful as does his heading ability. Still, considering most people, including myself, think we're a few players short of a team that can compete with Chelsea throughout a whole season the future looks very bright indeed.

Another good win for us today, 3-0 against Tranmere away, with results going our way again we are now 3 points off the playoffs with 2 games left.

Swindle lost as well today which is always nice, especially as we play them at Ahston gate next saturday, we win and they are relegated :D

Still very unlikely that we will make the playoffs but i felt with 5 games to go if we won them all that we would be in the playoffs, 3 down, 2 to go, and the teams above us are dropping points all over the place, and with Southend playing Swansea next week which if they win they are promoted they will be going all out to win that one, as if i were them the last thing i'd want would be to have to win against us on the last day to get promotion considering we have been playing and performing better than any other side in this division for a while now.

Even if we just miss out it will be a massive achievement for us consiering we were firmly rooted to the foot of the table after suffering 9 straight defeats and looked like were were heading for League 2 not that long ago.

Now all i have to do is try to find some way to go up to my best mates in Evesham on Saturday evening so i can go to the swindon game to hopefully see us relegate the buggers.

Have you heard or seen what Mr Jol said about that incident?
Something along the lines of "I had to back off, he doesnt know how strong i am"

Martin "Roar!" Jol.

Just read Mourinho's comments after the game. What a miserable man who can't hack a defeat.

If the fool had played the right tactics and had some wingers on, his team would have had a hell of a chance but once again he trys to be smart and he ends up with egg on his face.

If Man U beat them next week, he'll crack.

What a sore loser.

Well done the Pool.

Yep have to agree, the refs are always on Liverpools side, i mean did you see when Reina put his hand on Robben, and Robben jumped about 100ft up in there clutching his face, and started screaming, writhing about etc..., Reina got sent off, so yep refs are always on our side aint they.

Never liked Wenger and today he just showed what a total **** he is. To storm off down the tunnel like that and not show Jol the basic respect of a handshake is just a disgrace tbh. What a **** :o

We so deserved to win that game. Were is he getting off that Spurs should give them the ball because two of his players ran into each other??? the nipple.

...and suprise, suprise there's nothing wrong with either player and both continue after the incident

Full credit to Spurs. Missing our captain King, we still played them off the park for most of the game. Should have had a free-kick for a foul for their goal aswell... :D

Just got back from the match now, good to see Mourinho with his sour face on, you should've seen the look on the Chelseas supporters faces as they trudged out to a wall of red singing YNWA, absolutely priceless.

Excellent game, people complain about the ref, but both teams had their fair share of decisions go for and against them, but a great win and well deserved, cant wait for the final, i should be guaranteed a ticket! :D

Liverpool played really well today, I was really impressed with them.

Mourinho got his tactics all wrong today, his starting line-up was quite simply bizarre and I am still not sure what the thinking behind it all was.

"The Special one" ha.

Decent game today.
Without shearer , owen , parker , emre , dyer et all.
Three goals and no reply at home is something to be proud of , even if they are second bottom.

Shola Ameobi is now only 167 goals away from beating Shearers record...

Scouse xxxx. Thieves never win fair.
We are in shock once again. The Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea are considering an appeal to the FA. Thieves should not be allowed to put the beautiful game in disrepute.

 please learn to take defeat gracefully

Also I would suggest reading Sports forum rules especially rule number 2 ;)

Overall, I thought we deserved to win. Mourinhio's cockiness cost chelsea the game. In the first half I thought we played really well after a cagey start to the game, Kewell had a great game today, taking on defenders and beating them, some flashes of the old Harry Kewell which is great to see. We looked comfortable up until they scored but even that was down to a couple of errors on our part. From then on we were always going to be under preasure but we held on and just about deserved the win.

As for Jose, its his fault Chelsea didn't win, not the refs, we had just as many decisions go against us as what they did.

Perhaps Mr Mourinhio should learn to take defeat gracefully too
