Can see why Brendan got acclaim for his role in this, can imagine it would be a very hard film for certain people to watch.
Well, he got his statue.
I think if you approach this film with the attitude that people are flawed you'll find it a captivating watch. If you approach it with the fashionable attitude of 'everybody is a victim' then it'll be 'exploitative, fat porn with an part that should have been played by a fat gay guy'. FML.

Good movie but like most of his films, not one im in a hurry to watch again lol
I still remember buying requiem for a dream in a sale at HMV somewhat oblivious to what it's like, taking it to a mates and watching it with about 10 people and ultimately buzzkilling the entire room by the time it had ended.
