My choices are:

Beyond Divinity
Divine Divinity
Gothic 2: Gold Edition
Realms of Arkania 1 + 2
Realms of Arkania 3

I have ever played any of these and have only hear of Gothic in passing. Please help me decide.

Thanks in advance,
Antar.

Is this a GoG thing?

Hmmmm, should I cancel my pre order at Game to get it on GoG? No box or printed map and strategy guide, but also no DRM, pre download, and a free game?

I cant decide!

DIVINE DIVINITY!! :D

Gothic 2 Gold edition is amazing however the control scheme could really bother you and DD is more playable and is a large rpg game :)

Your choice out of those really

Yeah you can't go wrong with either Divinity. The Gothic series is RPG Marmite; you'll either love it or hate it, and don't bet on being an RPG fan either - I'm a huge RPG fan and I hate the Gothic games. Very unforgiving.

Realms of Arkania are classic games but extremely old (I first played them on my Amiga). I can't really recommend them for new players.

Yep it's a gog only thing. The other bonus with buying through gog.com is that the money goes straight to CDProjeckt Red, the creators of the game.

Coolio, guess I'll go with Divine Divinity then. Cheers guys.

Also, to those of you having problems getting your codes, you need to look at the plain text version of the e-mail being sent as apparently there's a problem with the html e-mail.

So if I pre order it now on GoG instead, will I get a free game or not? :(

My mouse cursor is hovering over the cancel button for my Game preorder.

Possibly not at this stage. Best bet would be to fire off an e-mail to them to find out.

Purchase and Pre-download The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Digital Premium only on GOG.com

You only have 6 days left to pre-order The Witcher 2, but that’s not the great news today. The great news today is that now you can officially purchase and pre-download 95% of the game before launch day--a GOG.com exclusive! You won’t have to download the whole game on the release day with the whole world, so you’ll be able to play The Witcher 2 sooner. Get it DRM-Free only on GOG.com with the best digital distribution package available.

Pre-order now to grab the full exclusive bag of goodies with all of the bonus material: a virtual version of the collector’s edition artbook, the whole soundtrack with 4 unreleased tracks exclusive to GOG.com, wallpapers, avatars and a photo tour showing the behind the scenes work of your favorite CDProjekt Red team. Last (but not least!) you get one of five epic RPGs for free.

If you don't know what the fuss is about, our very own sister company CDP Red is about to blow the world away with the new Witcher 2 :) They listened to community and fan feedback, they incorporated all the changes people wished for and they have a whole lot of surprises waiting for you in the next installment of the Witcher saga.

It must still be available, just not explicitly mentioned on the order page which is weird.

I'd be very surprised if they reneged on that offer any time before the game is released; GoG are good guys. Actually, ask them on Twitter; in my experience you'll get a near-instant reply.

It is a toss up between Divine Divinity and Gothic 2 - both are amazing and very much worth playing. Get Gothic if you love exploration of beatiful worlds in games, get Divinity if you prefer funny dialogues and diablo-like combat.
