The Wicker Man original/remake

I can't begin in words how much better the original is compared to this utterly ridiculous remake. Having seen the 2006 version the other day, I don't think there's been a movie where I've actually cringed so much in my seat when something so serious is being discussed;

The bit where Nicolas Cage is asking the woman how the doll of Rowan's doll got burned: "Is this hers? How'd it get burned? How'd it get burned? HOW'D IT GET BURNED, HOW'D IT GET BURNED?"

If you've seen the film, you'll know what bit im talking about. How can people just ruin a classic like this?

There was no eerie scenery, chilling soundtrack or compelling characters to note. Lady Summerisle in comparison to Lord Summerisle in the original, is completely unmysterious and bland!

What are your views?

The original is on selected re-release, isn't it?

Might be equally worth checking out for those people who remember how good it was and those who need to see a classic Brit horror.

The original could never be bettered, for that reason alone I didn't and will not watch the remake. Britt Eklands bum for the win great soundtrack also.

They are making another remake which should be much better. Even has Christopher Lee in it
