The Witcher 2: Version 2.0!

I've got the collector's edition there but haven't played yet as I'm waiting for this. :p

Does it auto-update in the launcher?

I have just verify the files to try and force an update. Now it looks like Steam is re-downloading the whole game again.

It is far better than the first and you will not miss too much if you haven't completed the first game.

I have to say I prefer the first one, loved the top down view and the detailed graphics while not being as realistic looked great and it ran beautifully.

In comparison the Witcher 2 runs like a dog, don't get me wrong the cut scenes and story are still great but just wish they had used the same engine from the Witcher 1.

You need a better graphics card mate.

Not trolling.... just saying with a decent card the game will play fine and still look nice. (5850 ish should do)

Mine updated through steam.... 80MB... started the game up and a patch for 74MB.... where are these hundreds of megabytes you guyes were on about?

Ironically, that's one of the issues that v2.0 fixes :p

Yeah, still cant update to 2.0,getting annoyed now :p

When i load the launcher no 2.0 update becomes available to download.

Ive had issues with the launcher since i bought the game, sometimes the game loads sometimes it dosent,it also trys to install Microsoft VC package nearly everytime i load the game.

I have admin rights on both steam and the witcher 2 exe.

If i delete the 1.35 patch from my steam folder, when i load the launcher again if automatically downloads the 1.35 patch again, but will not find the 2.0 patch.

Will be getting the game elsewhere soon and apply the patches myself manually, after all i have bought the game legit anyway.

I am tempted. I'm not sure about the controls of the first, is 2 improved?

Much and ideal if you have a 360 controller for your PC.

More than anything I found the first to be too long and drawn out with very little happening.

The 2nd might be shorter, but boy does it move quickly and have an excellent story (well, until the end).

Can't wait for the next installment.

got mine from g2, £12 quid with dues ex when it came out for £22, also got metro 2033 from there, all fine.

Not played a lot of witcher 2 though.
