The witcher 3 with a 1080Ti, low fps?

Tried that and I was stuck at 30fps again grrr


actually no, when I turned vsync on I was stuck at 30fps, I turned it on to try and cure the jerkiness but nope. with it off and limited to 60fps character movement is fine but moving the mouse is jerky.

Is it stuttering? Or just not smooth? Have you got any mods?

What about running it windowed at that res? Nvidia control panel any settings set?

Sounds stupid, but plug in an xbox controller and disable mouse hardware in settings. Stopped the mouse jittering for me

Strange, for me the fullscreen with vsync enabled and 60fps lock engaged results in perfect frame pacing (smoothness).

That's usually the case yeah, however if frames dip below 60 the game will drop to 30 until it can go back to 60 again, it's using double buffer vsync as standard without any triple buffering. If your system is capable of keeping 60 all the time, it will have no problem. The problem only highlights itself on systems that can't maintain a solid 60 frames per second.

But that is..not the case. On my PC at least. The game uses triple buffer so if it drops below 60 it drops to whatever it drops to, not to 30. I know some games that have messed up vsync that drop to double buffered 30 like Quantum Break, but Witcher 3 is not the case.

Gaming at 1440p ultra everything and well over 60 FPS with V-Xsync set to on ! super smooth for me.

Didn't have any problems with the FPS when I played through it again when I got my 1080ti, even with hairworks on with g sync it was still smooth, I'd recommend you put the 21:9 cutscene fix .exe on makes the game more enjoyable.

1080Ti is an excellent card and you'd not expect anything less from it. Witcher 3 is a demanding game, when I turn off hairworks on my 1070 I see an increase in my fps.

Check you're not at 30hz... sounds stupid but it happened to me in planet coaster. Spent ages wondering why it was playing like crap...
