The Witcher 3, worth playing previous 2?

2 for me is better than 3. I find the storytelling in 3 to be pretty poor overall that's boosted by some really stand up bits...plus completing it became such a chore by the end.

2 is more linear and shorter but more refined imo.
 
I liked the first game but I played it years ago so I'm not sure how well it holds up. It was a bit linear in terms of places you could explore but there was a good 40/50 hours worth of content to play through.

The 2nd game I never finished it was runnied by the use of quick time events which took all the skill out of fighting bosses.
