The Worst comic book superheroes - Warning possible nerd talk inside

Doomsday, I believe, was also Kryptonian with similar powers to Superman, but a Kryptonian which had undergone thousands of generations of forced evolution to make him into the ultimate warrior (I might be wrong here, not at all an expert), and this means Superman was going to have a very tough time finishing him off.

Not sure about him being Kryptonian, but the forced evolution is spot on. I can remember some of his history from the series. The harder he got hit, the stronger he became, until it was just a case of one final massive overpowering blow. Unfortunately, Supes got one back at the same time :(

I read an interesting article in the Metro (it does happen!) about Superman a month or two back - about how he was created by two Jews just before the second World War and how his name (Kal-El) is even of Jewish descent.

But I digress......

And The Thing isn't rubbish - it's just that he wasn't too well-portrayed in the film (although that wasn't Michael Chiklis' fault).

Looks like crap to me. As did the movie.

More like "The Thing, from under my toenails".

Never understood what the Phantom did, he just seemed to host crap talkshows on CN, never liked those "birdman" type heroes. He-man, though slightly camp, was pretty cool, I quite liked Bravestar for special abilities etc :D

Slightly contravertial, but I always found Optimus Prime a bit crap... he was a good guy, but just a naff super hero, he never finished what he started, and the war with the decepticons seemed prolonged far too much (mostly from pacifism if I understood correctly).

On another note, Captain America was poo. He fights with a shield (?) that acts like a boomerang... and was bulletproof... just really naff. And then there is Captain Planet, who could only be summoned by those kids, but what if one of the kids had been kidnapped and the ring taken, he wouldn't be able to save the day? Naff.

Spidey has got to be the all time best though, and I actually liked the film version with him naturally producing web, as opposed to webslingers "designed" by Peter Parker. Spider man's ability to "avoid damage" as opposed to simply being strong, was always cooler than Superman. Superman just seemed like a hacked superhero, he didn't necessarily need to be clever or tough or agile, he was just a dumb powerhouse-type person with good values.

He was clever though, he had to be for the likes of Braniac, and even Doomsday when he also got intelligence.

He also thwarted that other dude from another dimension by outsmarting him - cant remember the guys name - think he had to get him to say it backwards, Lipswitz or something random

/edit

I;ve never been the biggest fan of Spiderman simply because hes a big girl who talks to himself a lot.

Nothing wrong with talking to yourself, sometimes its the only way to have intelligent conversation :D

Big girl, means he's not tough I suppose, but then I would put superman in the same block as the incredible hulk and juggernaut - dumb, but strong.

Even if he outwitted a couple of far dumber enemies, doesn't mean he's smart. Peter parker was intelligent.

Braniac was an Artificial Intelligence created by Kryptonians and was possible the smartest being in the Universe...

After he defeated doomsday - he also gained some of this knowledge

Damn you all!

Batman is blatantly the greatest superhero of them all for one reason alone..

HE HAS NO SUPER POWERS!

Yet despite this he has still taken on (and beaten) every super villain to come his way, along with some other (so called) superheroes as well as predators/aliens...

ALL HAIL BATMAN! Truly a man amongst girls!

Yea i love superman but batman takes the cake imo.
