Depends how you look at it imo.
The way technology has come on, expectations should obviously be higher, thus the PS3 pad in this day and age is, simply put, a disgrace!

The Mega Drive pad however would be rated my worst if they were all lined up in a row. Sega MD pad Felt cheap - I actually bought smaller 3rd party controllers which I found to be better. Mmmmkay ? :D

Not for me. Of the pads i've used in my life (nes/snes/md/n64/gc/xbox/360/dc/wii) it (and the earlier versions) are by far the worst!

dpad is horrible to use and the sticks are positioned poorly. Thats for me anyway, I know a lot of people like it.

Not got a camera else I'd indulge your hand fetish. I can easily press both ctrl keys on a full sized keyboard with one hand if that helps give a scale.

Edit: I have a webcam though that I can use through MSN, no idea how to make it take normal pics though...

Isn't it down to opinion and what people feel comfortable with? In my case i feel least comfortable with the PS3 pad and i've almost every console there has ever been.
 
The original X-Box pad for me. Just way too big for my girly hands :p Really affected my playing ability, thank god for the revised one.
I can see how it would be great if you had large hands though.

Edit: Thinking about it, I struggled with the dreamcast controller for the same reason :/

Absolute worst controller for me was the original Atari 2600 Joystick that thing used to give me blisters, Some other contenders would be the Intellivision, Jaguar and the current PS3 pad because of those damn shoulder buttons and lack of rumble/weight
 
worst was the original xbox controller, the absolute fat one - horrible size and horrible buttons shape and placement. Closely followed by the dreamcast pad which was just uncomfortable to use and not enough buttons really.

i quite liked the n64 pad, had good button placement, decent analuage stick and the z trigger was genius :D

i cant really decide which pad i liked best, they all have their ups and downs. All the current gen pads suit the kind of games they offer

CD32 for me was one of the worst

Mind you many of you wont remember a Kempston interface and Quickshot joysticks lasting about 2 weeks circa 1984? playing Daley Thompsons Decathalon

Cripes oh the memories, the blisters and tears when it snapped in your hand.
 
the one for me is probably the one that ive seen praised most.
xbox controller.....that said it could probably have just been that particular one my bro had. the analogue stick just wasnt right..the movement of it wasnt very smooth..it could have just been a bad apple but its left a sour taste(no i didnt try eating it incase anyone says :p).

I agree the sixaxis and the 360 controllers are the best in history. The ps3 being better for me since i enjoy beat em ups and driving games. I'm really looking forward to the DS3 as the only argument I have about the sixaxis is its weight.. and maybe the L2 and R2 triggers.

The wavebird really woo'd me on the GC when that came out, and the SNES pad was in its day just about perfect.

Anyway this isn't about the best, this thread is about the worst and anyone who says the sixaxis is the worst then they surely haven't played on some of the older consoles of yester year !
 
Master System was pretty terrible. It was a bad clone of the NES controller. I eventually replaced my Master System pads with Mega Drive controllers (which were far superior).
 
The Megadrive controllers... they had god awful build quality.

I must have gone through at least 10-20 controllers in that consoles lifetime.
 
Gotta be the Atari 5200, it looked like a cross between an 80's mobile phone and some kind of pleasuring device ! :o

i still have the original controller, what were you doing with them? 10-20 controllers smells like complete BS to me, thw worst controller system without a doubt has to be the wii system, its not the actual controllers thats the problem its the way the console is designed to use them

for example

wii controller £30

but oh yeah we are not finished yet you will need a nunchuk £15

now dont forget if you wanna play virtual console games you need a classic controller £15

oh yeah the classic controller doesnt work on its own, you need to plug it into your wii mote

oh yeah did we mention we dont do rechargeable battery packs, which get charged up by our own console you need to buy your own batteries and charger £15

so you cant charge and play like any other console

so after all of that per person it costs about £75 for controllers to play on the wii, i myself have spent over £200 on just controllers for it

4 * controllers = £120
4 * nunchuks = £60
2 * classic controllers = £30
rechargeable battery packs and chargers = £30

= £240

which is more than what the console is worth, which is a complete joke, although they are decent controllers, these have to be the worst official controllers ever made due to costs of buying them, and then having to charge them

Still for a major console Id have to say the six axis is poor, the triggers alone are enough to put me off but the bad ergonomics are just too much at this level.

Out of the other major consoles id say the DC and N64 pads were great at the time but now they just seem stupid.

yeah the original six axis would be my 2nd worst controller, imagine shelling out £30 for a contoller that doesnt even have rumble, all of the current gen consoles have made huge mistakes when implementing their consoles, but the wii controller system is without a doubt a complete joke, can you imagine shelling out £240 for controllers, i would hate to imagine any of them breaking, i simply couldnt justify buying another one and giving nintendo more money for the worst controller system ever made, although it is the most enjoyable system ever made at the same time, i reckon nintendo have made billions from selling peripherals
