The year keeps getting better, and better!!

Your next job is to come down to our hospital and give a careers talk to 20+ students.
I'm finding it impossible to find somebody who will volunteer for 30 minutes from the Ambulance Service.

I told you dude, i'm more than willing to do so :)

Well done, i spent 13months at cosford training. Make good use of the train line to birmingham ;)

haha, luckily from where I live (South Staffordshire) it's quite easy to get to Cosford, just jump on the ole' M54.

Further update.

Even though I havn't had my training at Cosford, seems to of been a few delays sorting it out... but in the mean time I have won myself a Secondment within the control room, for 4 weeks (in view of a 6 month secondment) I am to be a full time Supervisor on the 999 call taking pod, basically i'll be responsible for upto 20 999 call takers at a time ensuring they aren't having any problems with calls. Also I will have to manage the Dispatch pod to make sure people are getting breaks at the right time.

As part of this role, I also have to check tapes (I.E. if a crew can't find an address and they aren't contactable on the phone number supplied) I have to do a tape check to make sure the address suplied on the case is correct.

Monitoring the call takers if they have trouble obtaining address', with my experience on dispatch, I have a good knowledge of the services area, so it's good to have a second pair of ears to help the call takers if they can't get an address through in 30 seconds..

Along with a nice pay rise, upto NHS Band 5 (About 20K +25% unsocial) working out to around £25,000 a year :D

Sorry! just needed to share
