The Z77 Sabertooth Club.

i cant believe you got this far. i split the boot drive so i could install win98 for an old game. got the blue death screen. tried two diff win98 installs.

mmmmmmmmmmmmm I was going to update. Sounds like your having trouble.
GladI didn't bother. Isthis a common problem ?

yup its a common problem, cpu multiplier gets 'stuck' for example i change to 44x100 for 4.4ghz.. do some testing and go back in to change it to 45x100 and reboot, it will still be 'stuck' on 4.4ghz only way to get round it is to reset cmos.

Looks like I need to upgrade as the old man's computer is having problems. This motherboard looks perfect for where I live with the dust cover.

Thinking i7 3770K but really not sure which memory to go for. Reading the official list from Asus it doesn't give you much to go on! Samsung Green is what I'd like. Can someone please confirm no issues with that memory on the Sabertooth. Running up to 2133mhz.

Cheers.

I have this problem as well.. still waiting for a solution.

Having just built a sabertooth, ivybridge 3770k machine and have multi stuck at 44 as I was going up with overclock and it stuck, it is a pain, but iam quite happy at 4.4g at the moment. I seem to have a fairly good chip at 1.15v stable so iam sure it will go more, but iam not reseting Cmos just yet its only been running 24hours so let it settle first.

asus thermal radar reports cpu temp at 24c so does real temp with in 1c of thermal radar and all cores are very close with in 2c of each other, the first time I have had all cores looking the same temp on any chip ive had.

so far likeing the board and the layout, looks cool

Is the stuck multiplier prob specific to a cpu? I have the Sandy Bridge config and not overclocking at present. I have older games I'm going through before I overclock to the extreme. No doubt I will come across this prob eventually if it is not resolved. Which I'm NOt looking forward to :(

Had to edit to welcome vapor matt. We got the same ram :p

The page, CPU POWER MANEGEMENT CONFIGURATION.
CPU RATIO at AUTO you talk about...?
At AI TWEAKER, BY ALL CORE (CAN AJOST IN THE OS) is at 40...?
I have to put it at 40 bolt place...?
If i desable the turbo mode, is going to stay all time at 40...?

Does the bios bug where the multi gets stuck only happen if you set it to 44 then try to change it? I haven't had this issue changing my multi between 46, 47 and 48 then back to 47 where it's most stable. Current bios 1805, and with each new bios I always try to see if I can up my multi and stay stable and within temps.

When i use PRIME95 and i put MIN FFT SIZE (in K) AT 1795, MAX FFT SIZE (in K) 1795, my CPU at 4.3GHz, volt at 1.295 i have no probleme.
After i star prime95 stock everithing come in red, event if i put my CPU at normal 3.8GHz that dont work...?
In my BIOS i put everythinh at 4.0 that change nothing.
It's possible the sabertooth Z77 it's a peace of crap compare the SABERTOTH P67...?
My P67 i never have that kind of probleme, evething was stable at 4.4GHz.
