Theif

Theres a new indie game in development that is heavily inspired by Thief that looks interesting called Project Shadowglass.

Recent Trailer -

The graphics look hideously painful even against the original games... but the gameplay ideas behind it are definitely LookingGlass era cool!!

The trailer or music doesn't feel very Thiefy. The graphics do remind me of the 90's style when 3D was still in its infancy.

First 3 were great but they killed the franchise with this 2010 game, was nowhere near as good.

I don't think anyone has managed to replicate Looking Glass' creepy atmospheres. The graphics were never amazing, but the sound and map design was top notch.

Yeah I didn't like the revamp. Bought it though because it was nostalgic thinking it'd be just as cool. I remember getting hooked on the demo level where the shopkeeper is killed by assassins and you track them back to the source :D

It's been so long since I played the first two that I really can't remember anything from them. The third one though.....

.....Shalebridge Cradle lives with me to this day. What an experience.

Gloomwood did imo

Gloomwood is brilliant and has a very dedicated albeit small dev team behind it.

I'm a huge, huge fan of Looking Glass games, especially the Thief series and it's by far the closest thing I've ever come across to the first two games.

I could get away with the graphics tbh, it's how horrendously slow and janky the speed of aiming/looking around seems to be because that absolutely was not the case in the old games.

Maybe it's someone using a controller instead of M&K?

Thief 2 still looks amazing btw with a little fiddling and modding, doesn't take long and you can even get it running in ultrawide:

The above is taken from my last playthrough, easily one of my favourite games of all time.

Not heard of this one but I like the aesthetics (can't believe I spelled that right first time).
One to watch for

Yea the texturing in Thief was always pretty good. They just don't use many polygons :D
