Their in!!!!!!!

Are these not on par with the 8600GTS, but considerably cheaper? Seems quite good for the ones on a tight budget if you ask me.

no they lag behind the 8600 series and are more costly in cases.

As above, x1950pro urines all over the 2600's, which it should do seen as its even faster than the 8600's, and even they urine all over the 2600's. :D

because i can get one for £40 ^_^, and im sure with a few updates to the drivers they will get better.
Gotta wonder how much longer people will say it's the drivers that are to blame for ATI's shoddy cards. :p

Anyway I'm sticking with my 7900GTO it does the job very well still.

why on earth would anyone buy one of them cards

Actually my first thought when I looked at the HD2400 is what a good media centre card it would make, assuming it really is silent.

A good price, HDMI out, and hardware decoding of video, does audio as well... if I were building a media centre PC right now, I definitely consider one of those to power the graphics.

I wouldn't fancy it for playing new games though ;)

V1N.

How on earth did AMD think these will beat NV. they need to take a good hard look, with AMDs CPU sales going down, plus the money they spent on buying ATi, they are gonna have to do something to make this cash back but this is not it

I think ATI/AMD is well aware of that and is taking a huge gamble hoping that the new architecture will really pay off in true DX10 games. It's the only logical explanation.

I think both amd and ati should just die :D

Yeah, you sure???. If they do you will pay through the roof and wait much longer.

Yeah go and die AMD woot    .

Yes they should die and then we get high prices yey. ;)

Dont be like that, the whole chip and gfx card market would be dominated by one player for each field, bad for all of us. Bad hardware is released by all developers now and then, its a hard market and the biggest make mistakes but in the long run things ballance out with better developed products. You can bet a whole lot of moving around is being done to make sure future products are up to expectations, heads rolling ect in r&d and other relevent departments.

Those 2600's are a rip off

Probably hoping to sell them on the "DirectX 10" label.

Personally I won't be buying either mainstream card at the moment. The performance is less than desirable from what I have just now.

I hope some one from AMD/ATI are reading these forums so they can get their acts together :p

But like it was said earlier, they will have contracts with multiple OEM's so they will rake in the cash anyway. Its just us enthusiasts who do not like them. For average Joe Bloggs Im sure they would be more than happy to have a dx10 card in their Dell/HP/whatever.
