Theme Park/Hospital

I'm looking for some games similar to these where you build up from the ground and manage it all.

I've played Theme Park and Hospital, also Rollercoaster Tycoon etc, but i am more wondering if there are any more recently released games that fit my criteria.

Left 4 Dead 2 has a level in a funfair and there's (dead) people vomiting next to the rides just like in Theme Park.

You could try that I suppose.

L4D2 has a hospital level as well btw.

It's like the two games rolled into one.

Bit of a difference but Anno 1404 or Sim City 4 could scratch your micro managing itch... They must be dirt cheap now too. As has been said before Theme Hospital and Theme Park/Rollercoaster Tycoon have yet to be bettered really.

You're more likely to find something on a mobile device. Pocket Academy is a pretty decent school sim on iOS.

Would recommend Anno 1404 myself for a micro management fix.

What about Dungeon Keeper and its sequel?
They're not new by any means but they're up there as 2 more Bullfrog classics.

I don't think it bettered it, but Hospital Tycoon is newer than Theme Hospital with better graphics and a little more scope for building the hospitals up. Good fun however my sister nicked my copy and I had completely forgotten about it

Theme Hospital is awesome! Why has no game devs thought about doing a modern day version?

They did it was not very good whatsoever, bug ridden, no supported etc, was all in spangly 3D as well

Though its now up to Beta 8. Its basically Theme Hospital but ported to a new engine so it can be played on modern PCs, with the options in the future of loads of modding to the game. See: OpenTTD.

I was about to mention OpenTTD, used to love playing it.
Especially since it would run from a USB stick which allowed me to play it at work.

Theme hospital was amazing, popping peoples inflated heads was always fun
