There are 100s of bands as 'good' as Oasis

Why the hell should you put a film on, watch it for 2 hours, say 'I didn't understand that so I'll watch it again' so you watch it again and you say 'I understood a little bit so I'll watch it again' etc etc.
.

I agree on general principle but there are genuine exceptions. "Dune", for example, is one of my favourite films, but when me and our kid first watched it we didn't know what the hell was going on. It's flawed in that it requires some knowledge of the novel but it's such a visual treat that I'll let it off.

10 years ago there weren't 100s of bands as good as Oasis IMO.
There might be now, but not when they were in their pomp.

No they weren't. You just went along with the lemming mentality that said you HAD to think they were incredible.

Not me; I didn't really get into them until the summer of 1995. And I didn't see them live until 10 years after that. I still think some of their songs are great, even in the modern day and age when the bandwagon/lemming mentality has well and truly gone. Heck, I don't even like one of their most popular tracks (Don't look back in anger) that much, certainly not in my top30 Oasis tunes.

My musical taste is a bit more diverse now but I still can't think of many bands with so many tracks than like so much. Definitely Maybe, Morning Glory and the Masterplan all have half a dozen or so brilliant songs, not to mention their other 4 albums and assorted rarities.

To be honest whether not people think Oasis are lacking in talent, overrated or whatever, the old stuff still sounds good to me which is what matters. Most music/bands I tend to.... not exactly grow out of, but like less than I used to. Whereas, say, Slide Away is still utterly majestic.
