There is a bug INSIDE my monitor

It's crawling all over my screen. I thought it was just on the surface, but it wouldn't wipe off. I figured someone was having a joke, some little griefing program, but a screenshot shows the bug not in that position and STILL moving around. The only thing I can think of is that it's actually between the screen and whatever displays it. I have no idea how to get rid of it. If it dies in there, I'm going to be real ticked off.

It's a thunder fly / harvest fly / black fly or Thrip depending on where you are from. Very common and very annoying. Touch wood I haven't got any in my monitor this year.

Thunder fly

Sounds a lot cooler than it is.

I've never encountered one in my screens (touch wood)

turn the panel off

it should hopefully leave, if it dies in there = :/

Did you try to take a screen shot of it? :D

Only to see if it were something on my computer, not to show people :S

Tried to take a few photos, but can't get the res down. 7 megapixel isn't as clear as it makes itself out to be, I guess. Damn thiong >:(

As for turning the monitor off, it was there when I got in just now, and my computer's been off all day. I suppose I could try turning it off for a few hours now, but I wouldn't be able to use my computer then. Crap.

If I have to replace my monitor because of this little ****, I suppose that's something I'll have to mention in ebay.

Happened to me a couple of years ago. Not much left now, but I think it did die in there or something, there's still some residue :o

I just had one in the dead centre and although this worked for me, I in no way reccomend it to anyone! I simply flicked the screen where the bug was really hard with the top knuckle of my index finger until it fell down and down and down and down....

Knuckles are red now and hurting, but the little bleeder has gone! Was beginning to get super worried as I've had one die before inside a brand new 24" and almost cried :(

Can't see him any more. If he's disappeared, well and good, but I suspect he's hiding amongst the black border somewhere. Perhaps I'll wait and see.

didnt ppl used to say switch off the monitor and all the lights in the room use a super bright torch and shine to the back of the monitor so it will be attracted to the light at the back and hopefully fly out :)

neways if i lands on your torch remember to had your keyboard ready to unleash so kick ass on to its sorry little self :)

just a thought lol

Just to clarify, I'm not running a CRT here. It's one of these, so how it got in and how it's going to get out, I have no idea.

On that note, it came back. I tried the tapping thing, which seemed to work for a bit, but then he just stopped in front of my tapping for a couple of seconds and then darted through. I've got a Lara Croft fly in my goddamned monitor, and there's no way I can get it out.
