Have to show my ignorance here and ask is an AquaGrafx multi sli connector a piece for connecting between cards as opposed to tubing :confused: Well if you dont know you have to ask :)

Well, all we need is a sticky thread. If everyone opens a photobucket account (FREE, as in beer), you can link directly to the images there, so we need not worry about storage requirements on this forum............;)

Yeah, honesty not a great fan of photobucket, but as I have my own storage it isn't an issue.

I don't mind hosting pictures if that helps anyone out.

Lets be honest Area 51 don't think many of us could put up much of a fight anyway even without that. Maybe if Biffa, NathWraith, Stan or rjkoneill see the light ;) they could put up a fight.
I'm already resigned to seeing a TBag shaped blur come rushing past sooner or later :( Just not sure if it'll be square, round or pyramid shaped :p
 
I think I could hold him off for a little while if the urge moved me, maybe if there was some reciprocation from the Seti ranks once in a while...... :p

The man's enthusiasm knows no bounds ;). Gotta give it to him. Just glad he's on our side!!!! A true character! :)

There is a fly in the ointment however. There's a guy goes by the id of 'jon' on S@H, who is trying to get a 5x480 setup stable :eek: (and unfortunately, he crunches for the GPU users Group)!! He's had one mainboard failure, and a cable burn out so far. I'm not sure if he's going to run the setup ala 'Five Hamlet' style, or if he has seriously considered how he's going to cool that thing, but if he can nail it, our Toxic has more than competition!

Give me until the end of the month which should put me around 10/11th then you can have one of my rigs for a week or two. If only i could get the 3rd 295 to work properly when folding as it just errors. It'll work ok if its only two cards running (in any configuration) bit as soon as i try a 3 cards the last 2 instances started error out. How did you get yours running if you don't mind me asking?

Evening Area51, couldn't let something like that Aqua piece go have ordered the gpu blocks etc and going to mull over the radiators tonight.
Nah "Jon" will not be competition while his setup is getting there in terms of no more wu wasted i hope! i also ordered the test bench, some aluminium sheets probably end up doing the same but for the sake of the team i would have to go one better and make it 6:D:D
Been practising with my dremmel for a few days and ready to show that dumb 800d how to aircool properly :D
Mooching about in the cupboards i scraped together a q6600 some ddr2 ram and bits.
What i need to know is, is there a 3 gpu slot board for a q6600 (socket 775 ?) asking around people seem to think there is but not all 3 would run at x16 and that would slow gpu's down.
Am coming to my senses and realise (i hope i can) get the same sort of output from not neccesarily an i7 et all, something Mr Halz tried to tell me a few moons ago :D:)

I have to admit, I'm not up on Intel motherboards. It doesn't sound impossible, after all it only represents triple sli.......

He already has one machine outputting 50k (which doesn't actually sound like much for 5x295's). If you ignore his current Frankenmonster, his RAC is still 94k......

I salute your optimism Toxic, really I do!!!!!

Not sure they all run x16 when in use but the IP35 im currently using has a x16 and x4 and the only real difference in seti/folding seems to be that the x4 runs cooler but that may just be a fluke.

Looking at the reviews as long as you don't mind not oc'ing the cpu much you should be ok
 
Rofl....silly Toxic didn't realise he had a second rig :eek: Still it's a challenge anyways. I really would like to trip up the happy cloggers though, serve em right for joining the Euro....nutters :)

Thanks for that Mr reaver sah! Looking at the wording on item description all 3 pcie 2 slots are x16 brilliant bit of investigation sah thank you!:D
