I think its just me.. a few members have acted like that towards me. Not a nice place if I'm honest.

All I have done is post in a few threads my opinion on things and I get told I don't know what I'm on about and basically talked to with no respect like I'm a complete idiot.

That's because those with equal scores are arranged alphabetically - there are 6 others with 33 degree scores and 2 with 32 so that puts it in the top 8 you see

What's HF3?

CF3 is the stuff that comes with the Silver Arrow isn't it? I can't say specifically about the thermal paste but the whole job is just incredible. 16C-23C idle and 37-41C under prime95

It's white, not like cement, but probably sets harder than AS5. Great stuff for GPUs IIRC, sure I used this on my old Athlon XP 3200+ and 6800 Ultra

oh dear, a simple question has turned into a schlong throwing contest....

what is the best thermal Compound to

use for the cpu as i'm currently using the thermal adhesive that come with

the cpu, also what is the best thermal compound remover.

to answer your question,

of the brand names out there you are looking at minimal differences between them unless you are aiming for Oc'ing bench marks (lets be honest if the OP is asking then he aint)

also, it's worth noting, you are never going to be able to apply the same TIM each time in an identical way irrespective of the method you use-spread, pressure etc-so you may find variations in your testing (unless of course you are a robot!!)

personally i'd advise you to use MX-4, or if you can stretch to it, IC D.

MX4, ICD is a bit expensive. Heck, on my other machine, an i7 930. I used some 3 year old as ceramique, the cpu on it runs cooler than my 920 which was done with MX3. Thats with both at a mild oc of 3.6ghz on pretty similair vcore. The 930 based rig is also in a very poor cooled case.

ChillFactor III looks good on those charts. Which comes with thermalright coolers (yup, even my puny MUX-120).

Only ever really used arctic silver and have never had any problems, so +1 for that.
