thermal paste should never need to be replaced unless the heatsink is replaced, in which case it should always be replaced.

Choice of thermal paste also depends on your cooling range. AS5 is no good for sub-zero (phase) cooling, for that you need Ceramique. Check the specs before you buy

Just leave the AC MX-1 on there - it's VERY good stuff. They supply a lot of it just in case your heatspreader is concave. Just fix it down and enjoy.

Basically one of the best thermal Pastes out there as well...3rd only to Shin-etsu micro si and Coolaboratory Pro I believe (nightmare to work with).

Cool laboratory Pro I believe (nightmare to work with).

For cool lab pro you need to use a fine artists pain brush to spread it. And an extremely small amount of cool lab liquid. Its good stuff as well.
