** THERMAL GRIZZLY - CHAMPIONSHIP THERMAL PASTE **

The price though... not sure if I want to pay £22 to drop my cpu temp by 4c. Maybe once I run out of IC diamond and MX3 but so far it doesn't look like it's going to happen... they should sell these in smaller tubes! 3-5ml will still do a few builds.

Didn't notice that this got resurrected haha!

Not the worst thread necro I've ever seen on these forums!

They do sell it in smaller tubes. The 3ml size should last a while if you use the rice/pea method.

It's fine to mention stuff OCUK don't sell, just don't mention competitor names.

TBH you can use any thermal paste. Just get what's good and easily available. They're really very similar. Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut might bag you an extra degree or two but there isn't much difference between pastes.

I've got Kryonaut on my 5820K and haven't had any issues with it.

Just don't try messing around with any of the "liquid metal" pastes e.g. Liquidmetal Pro. They're tricky to apply and can stain/mark the CPU heatspreader.

thanks for the thumbs up, i kinda made a mistake a while back and I have been sentence...so i am coming back on eggshells,

So i will look into getting something like that, i am not sure if the degree rising is because of the weather or the constant removing of the HSF it starting to wear thin.

Every time you remove/reseat the cooler, you should clean and re-apply fresh paste. The recent weather has been screwing with my temps as well. I'm normally idling at around 25-30C, but when the ambient temp is 25-30C I'm idling at 35-40C.

Okay yeah i know about that on the old HSF that but this is my first time using an aio, so i thought you could keep reusing the thermal paste already on here, as the only changes is just were the cpu press, what i did do was spread the remaining and put the cpu back on...

.....something  tells me that this could be wrong, just thought that the paste already on there was high grade being from the manufacture, and could be use multiple times.

No, if you re-mount any cooler without replacing the paste, you'll likely get air bubbles trapped in the paste which can screw up your temps.

The paste that they pre-apply to coolers can be decent, but it's only for one use. Once you dismantle, you've got to re-apply some fresh stuff.

It can also dry out over time and give a poor thermal interface.
