Thermal interface pads

I can't apply thermal grease :rolleyes:

Whenever I try, temps go up 5C or more. What are those Akasa shin-etsu pads like, anyone use them? I take it they are just like what you get on new fan/heatsinks?

Nah, it's not like the stuff that comes on heatsinks these days, that's proper paste. It's more like the stuff you use to stick RAM sinks on with.

I use some coolermaster stuff, Do you reckon it could be the grease itself?!

When you say temps go up 5c, up from what?

It could be the thermal grease but 5c is a lot to be caused by some dodgy thermal grease i would have thought...
