Thermal paste prices

AS5 is nice, but is conductive, so I usually say get the MX-2//4, or Chillfactor3 is good.

Fuel/shipping costs maybe?
also agree with Stulid, MX-2/4 quite reasonable for the amount you get

I imagine the biggest factor is the increase in cost of precious metals; they've gone up more than 200% in the past 4 years.

+1 considering it is 3.5 grams of paste, in a small plastic tube, i would have thought that the main cost was the materials that give the paste its special properties for thermal conductivity

That certainly doesn't apply to Arctic Cooling MX-2 & MX-4.

Since the MX-2 compound does not contain any metal particles, there are no problems regarding electrical conductivity and capacitance.

Since the ARCTIC MX-4 is a metal-free compound, it eliminates the risks of causing short circuit and in turn adding more protection to your computer.
