Thermal paste question

Hello,

Is it best to keep the pre-applied thermal pastefrom NZXT coolers, or should I purchase something else? if so, what products do you recommend?

Product in question is a x31 kraken.

There's no harm in keeping it, but if you think the temps are higher than they should be, replace with better quality TIM!

What's your spec?

Well, the system hasn't been built it. I have got most parts for the build apart from VGA & CPU. Just need to know if I need to order thermal paste or not, as part of the build. First time builder....

Main specs will be
MSI Z97S SLI Plus
4690K with Kraken x31
Kingston HyperX Fury 1866
Havn't decided on VGA yet.

I'd get some in case you need to remount and start again.

Stuff lasts for years anyway.

I use Mx4. Lasts 8 years and gets good results in tests.

Helps my h60 keep my cpu cool at 4.5ghz/1.224 vcore despite using a quiet fan.
