Thermal Paste Technique Poll?

I have always put a blob on and then spread it with a stanley knife blade and have had no problems.

Tiny drop in the middle and let the pressure of the heat sink spread it out. Only with liquid metal have I spread it myself.

Actually I use the X method mostly, although my main PC has Indigo Extreme which you need to reflow using a specific method.

Little thin line in the middle 'or pea sized blob'. Never had any issues to date with this method. Always spreads out evenly so far.

I normally use a blob in the middle then spread it out as well. its never failed me so far

I have always spread mine right from my first build and never had any issues. The main thing being to take your time and get a smooth and consistent layer to prevent bubbles etc.

I usually apply a generous amount to my knuckles and then punch the CPU. Whatever sticks is what I use.

LoL....

Little grain of rice type method works for more runny types.

More of a long line for the drier types.

not my best description ever but ..
