thermal paste, which is best

which thermal paste gives the best performance, i read the comparison test here http://archive.benchmarkreviews.com...k=view&id=150&Itemid=62&limit=1&limitstart=12 but its from 2009, has anything changed, anything new worth considering. the chip will be a 7700k or a ryzen 1800x

Grizzly is meant to give the best performance but there are other pastes which do just about as well as makes really no difference. The thing about Grizzly is that if you want to manually spread it before cooler placement it is very difficult to spread, whereas some other good pastes are not.
Grizzly does spread from a pea, or the dolloping of your choosing, like any other paste after the cooler has been on it though.

difficult as in lumpy bumpy mess, or difficult as in use a little spreader or something....

the only bad thing iv read abut it is not to let it near aluminium soooo.....

If your 7700k is delided then liquid metal or conductonaut on the die and thermal grizzly kryo/hydronaut on the IHS

Yeah its good but if you use on top of the IHS it WILL remove all the written details on there and they are required for warranty purposes. Though same goes if your cpu is delidded, unless you bought it ready done from ocuk.

I like IC Diamond however it appears not to be mentioned much anymore. I have IC Diamond on some servers and apart from it's performance been very good i've never once had to re apply the paste, one server is over 5 years old.
