thermal paste?

Isopropyl alcohol and paper towel - it's the base ingredient of a lot of the cleaners and can be specially ordered in from your local chemist.

Not from all of them, my local will sell my acetone in half litre bottles but no IPA at all.

Most pastes are basically the same stuff, if you dont get the surface spotless it's not the end of the world. Cotton wool buds are excellent.

Acetone, IPA and White spirits didn't work at all for me. Best to use a solvent for the job, I use Akaska Tim Clean.

Aceteone, ipa and white spirit are solvents
The akasa mentioned is a degreaser, which could be considered a subcategory of solvents.

If you only use a degreaser you will leave residue on the surface. This can be removed with ipa, which is why you can buy cleaning sets with one bottle of citrus degreaser and one bottle of ipa from this site. Akasa branded too.

This wouldn't surprise me as it's very flammable (obviously) and was relatively easy to get hold of - age being the only criteria to fulfill (18 or over) plus a perfunctory question asking 'what you intended using it for'. I suspect it's been abused and has had to be reclassified with tighter regulation...

I bought my last 500ml bottle about 6 years ago - and it's still over half full so i'm a little out of the IPA loop. What about IPA wipes do they still exist/easy to get hold of?

White spirit and kitchen towel f.t.w :D

Can someone please explain why f.t.w. gets blanked out if I write the letters together? It happened to me in a recent thread. I know that it stands for "For The Win", which basically means that such-and-such rules or such-and-such is ace etc. I see it written in chat in World of Warcraft most times I play it. Thanks :-)

I have IPA and Acetone in the house. Have used both. both are >99.5% purity :). IPA wipes tend to be 70%. PM/Trust me if you want some!

Artclean is excellent, it's what I use. I'm sure some of the other suggestions will be as good, and probably cheaper. <£6 isn't too bad, the stuff lasts as well.
