I found mx3 very good to apply and use.

Just use a non-conductive one.

I got the akasa freeze 6 or something. Not bad but i would go for mx4 as this was an instant buy from local shop

Related to the OP, what paste do companies generally use on their cards? It would be useful to know for any future return under warranty.

Gooyey crap buy the looks of most the cards I've taken apart uneven contact between cooler and chip in most cases

I used Cool Laboratory - LIQUID Ultra a few weeks back when building my HTPC, put it on my i3 really slowly and I must say very neatly, I used because of the reviews i read..... The only thing I never saw was DONT USE WITH ALU HEATSINKS !!!!!!

I had a lucky escape I noticed it 2 days later, the fin's on the reference HSF where just falling away.... =(

Is that the stuff in a junkies needle? (hypodermic). When I bought it and showed a few friends they all looked at me in disappointment until I told them it was for my CPU. I'm joking but we had a laugh about it looking like that .

I like MX-3 i have MX-4 but my tube was like it felt less moist( ) than the MX-3

Thermalright Chill factor 3 is the best from my experience

ive used 3 different pastes on my 570

MX-2, Arctic Ceramique and Thermalright Chill Factor 3

max temps @ 850 core 1.063v

Stock 88c
MX-2 87c
Ceramique 88
CF3 86c

tbh not much between them

unless you have really bad temps that you think is cause of the stock paste
your better off leaving it as it is
changing the paste on GPUs usually doesn't make that much difference if any
