I was running a Freezer Pro 7 and was getting temps of 42,42,36,36

I am now getting idle temps of 37,37,34,34 with a TRUE cooler

I did have trouble getting the heatsink in place which slipped and slided everywhere.

Should I have lower temps or is that about right?

yes i know mate! but 2 of my friends have a Q6600 and their temps are around 32c... i built both their comps and used a freezer pro for both. got any useful info for the op or what?

My case is a coolermaster 832 (or whatever it is). I dont think its the case as my old dual core ran under 30c and that was over clocked.

I think the chip is generally hot despite the volts being low but I was expected slightly lower temps.

I think it is still settling as I have over clocked to 2.8ghz and its dropped to 37,37,33,33.
 
yeh thats a pretty decent case.. have a try with the side of the case off see if that makes a difference. If it goes lower then its airflow related as the cooler cant decipate the heat efficiently. :) whats your max temp with full load btw?
 
that's what i mean you can fit them on either side or both ive never heard f someone fitting a fan underneath a TRUE!!
 
Maybe he has it mounted horizontal so it sits like ----- in the case, and by underneath he means on the lower side. Which maybe along with this and the single fan is causing issues with the temperatures, but I don't know if mounted it vertically changes anything.
 
oh that makes sense, would still be incorrectly fitted though, best to have it lined up with rear exhaust!
 
i suppose as long as you have the heat from the TRUE going out of an exhaust it dosnt matter what way it would go.
Most people have cool air being pulled from the front and expelled out of the back so fitting it blowing right to left on the motherboard is the usual method, but as the original poster is complaining about temps its pretty safe to say that it isnt working as planned.

i have the stacker 832 and if he has got it blowing up from the cpu position it is blowing into the PSU, which isnt ideal!!
