Thermaltake Cases

iv got the Armour LCS. I really like it. Think its looks quality. I have an 8800GTS and it doesnt leave much room for the water tank and pump. You may need to position where possible and drill 2 more little hole to fix down (with a graphics card so big you cant use the pre drilled holes).

Its easy to set up and surprisingly silent. Would recommend

thanks for the feedback, i'm in 2 minds to WC now though, i've decided to save some £££.

I was wondering if the Thermaltake VA3000SWA Tsunami Dream SuperMidi Aluminium Tower would suffice as I was going to go for 2 x X1950XT-X Crossfire cards.

if I stick an Akasa AK-961 CPU Cooler with Fan Controller (LGA775) on the CPU and get e6600 would that do the job?

on a completely diffrent case though does anyone know if the JEANTECH Apollo Midi JN8005 is any good?

tbh, i wouldn't recommend any Tt's for an SLi/crossfire set up, the cooling is ok for single cards, but i imagine it getting a bit warm in their with 2, i'd advise a lian li pc-7 or something, and its cheaper than a tsunami dream.

it's a shame i think those lian cases are so ugly!

any other recommendations , it can't have vents on top of it or usb/xd/audio slots, I have my decks to sit on top of it!

and it needs to be midi for height reasons!

LCS Maintenance headache?

I was thinking of either the tsunami midi or the Kandalf LCS.

What sort of maintenance does an LCS case require, how often do radiators need topping up, does the system need flushing @ any time, how often should you check for leaks or corrosion.

I generally like to build a PC and then forget about it, it's a pain having to pull all my stuff out , wires, speakers, mixing decks etc... (the pc is part of my music studio as well as for games)

would it be too much hastle building a WC PC if you don't have easy access?

The thermaltake LCS systems have been known to spring leaks in the tubing and grow cracks in the waterblocks, if you want a no maintainence pc i personally would stay away from them.

This is only what i have heard but i would still heed these words wisely. :)

I'd avoid the integrated watercooling thermaltakes...maybe use the LCS for the GPU/NB and set up another loop for the CPU. :)

Name a case then that shows style and is of the same build quality and if i hear you say the Lian im going to cry!

see here what I wrote about the Tsunami Dream case and having X1900XTX crossfire.

fraid it's lian li from me, i like the soprano i have from thermaltake, but i wouldnt consider running a crossfire setup in it, and i like my sonata II but again, it would be to hot for my comfort in there, so i went with a 3D aurora, its good quality but lacks a removable HDD rack, so will not fit the new 8800GTX's (unless i hack it up a bit :p) so, lian li has my vote, i have seen 2 now in real life, they look stunning, but just not what i prefer, but they are quality, i will give em that, cant fault them :D (apart from they suck at having good pics taken of them)

Well, saying Lian Li would be wrong because they aren't as good. They are better :p

CoolerMaster Mystique / Stacker / Any ATCS looks better and has better build quality
Antec... well any depending on what looks you prefer at any price point
Silverstone... again any will offer as good or better quality and normally looks

I'm a big Antec fan, they are generally built like tanks, although some of their new designs have disappointingly flimsy doors.

However, their attention to detail in design is incredible, as is their consideration for noise reduction - they also know how to make a good PSU.

Finally, you just can't fault their customer service, second to none in my experience.

Coolermaste are good, too, but the Stacker is the only CM case that I would bother owning atm. You might not need that much space, though.

My recommendation for you is don't bother with WC, get an Antec P180 or Nine Hundred.

are you having a laugh m8, the thermaltake armor is (or 1 of ) the best cases ive ever owned- Why?....cooling ,and lots of it.
ps ive had loads of set ups from presscots to sli , never had heat issues !

anyway the usb and audio ports all remove from the top to make it completerly flat (for decks), if you do some scratching in your mixs, get the black 1 as it wont move an inch due to the weight of it. hope this helps...

my spec=
[email protected]
8800 GTX @600/1000
(both on water)
PB5 Deluxe WiFi
2 x Geil Ultra DDR 6400
2 x Raptors ( Raid0)
Seasonic M12 700
All in thermaltake ARMOR..
temps= cpu30/gpu38/Sys28

You Can remove the audio and USB Ports from the top?? is this safe to do or are we talking about getting the deremal out??

its just 1 screw and the audio/usb section comes off, then the surround(plastic on the top) is clipped on. 10 mins max and you will have a very flat top. hope this helps
merry xmas by the way :D
