thermaltake cases

I remember one "preview" video of some recent TT case from some event and they were showing some internal plastic gimmicks which just fell to table when exhibitor touched them.
I can't say I'm surprised, is it on youtube? :D
Sure very heavy steel case (which you've probably looked) feels more substantial but by avoiding overengineering A70/71 realizes bigger part of aluminium's lot lighter than steel weight.
I'm surprised there aren't more stainless steel cases, they may cost a little more but unpainted stainless steel can look nice and a good alternative to Alu...

The official reason I removed Thermaltake from OcUK is due to the lack of demand, and the poor quality of the cases.

The support was less than brilliant from them also.

That Thermaltake Element looks quite nice.
Although in the UK it comes in at around the same price as the Antec902.

Looks like a nice alternative if thats the kind of thing your looking for; the gallery for the Element in particular shows off the metalwork on the interior of the case. Looks like quite a high standard, but I suppose you need to have a swatch in the flesh.

Geaar, plastic, 'orrible. I had the Soprano case and I thought the "tool-less" design on that was awful. HDDs didn't securte quite properly and the pci cards were a nightmare to fit in.

and right from the horses mouth :D

looks like i was right.

having owned a Tt soprano and a Tt armour LCS (easy entry to watercooling (which was far to much hassle!!!) both bought from overclockers at an extortionate price (note: not due to OcUK but to Tt's largely over inflated opinion of themselves) i wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. there are far better cases out there for half the price.

you guys can critisize thermaltake all you want i am going to get the thermaltake xaser 6 case the red and black one cause i need a case thats light have plenty of drive bays removable motherboard tray ajustible power supply bracket etc

why do you need lights? or an 'ajustable' power supply bracket for that matter?

all of these and more can be found in cheaper, better cases, but if you want to delude yourself go right ahead.

Well, nice amount of 5.25" bays and space for long graphics cards but that's all what can be said.

12kg is heavy for aluminium case and it doesn't even include anykind dampening features for that weight.
And PSU is in hottest and worst place above hot components, worsened further by craptacular restrictive rear exhaust fan blocking mesh.
Then dense packed restrictive/high airflow impedance HDD cage with thermally decoupling typical (=resonating and vibration conducting) plastic tray worsened by intake fan being restricted seriously by another dense mesh. (+two drives on bottom won't get any cooling)
Compared to those (often resonating) clear plastic bling bling fans aren't anymore big flaw.

the reason why i am getten that is because i am going to put 2 powerful graphics cards in and also a powerful power supply and also liquid cooling aswell and several hard drives also what i cant understand is why are people in this world so damn negative all the time

Maybe seeing crap makes people negative...
Where did you intend to fit that radiator? Not much sense making places for that.
Bottom isn't good place because you need to get that heat to place where it gets away from case instead of having chance to leak back (restrictive bottom mesh) and we're down to five HDD bays which fits to any big case.
Again if you put it into 5.25" bays then you'll end up wasting them all.

As opposed to that Lian Li 70 (weight probably 8kg because A71 with door is ~9kg) has soft mounting for seven HDDs in front with good airflow allowing spacing, keeps PSU on bottom where it isn't warmed by other components and can take triple radiator to top with some modding. (also readily holed top panels available)

i could draw up a list of cases a page long that would fit the bill for that and look 100% better too

Only 100%?

Thermaltack are just that, tacky. They have a niche market though I'll give them that but fooling people can only go on for so long.;)
