Does anyone here know anything on the Thermaltake Big Water? Its about £50 at competators, is it ok for a newbie like me?
I dont want to spend that much on a custom job. All i want is a CPU block and this seems to be alright.

Thanks

i have one in an old SKT 754 system to keep it quite, there pretty good for that not good for overclocking tho. but for £50 you get the equivilent of an expensive air cooler but with more silence :)

Ok I might not get it then, more dangerous to my components than air  whats THE BEST air cooler around and the quietest. are those zalmans anygood, they look ace.

1. Arctic Freezer 7 Pro
2. Zalman CNP9500

id say there two of the best at the moment and maybe a Sychth ninja there pretty HUGE to

But i prefer water over AIR more fun

these are the ones I'm looking at
Zalman CNPS7000B-ALCU Ultra-Quiet CPU Cooler - Retail (HS-008-ZA)
Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940) (FG-000-AR)
Akasa EVO 98 Heatpipe Copper (Socket 754/939/775) (HS-034-AK)

The Akasa Evo isn't meant to be that good and even though it has an amber fan on it, it's surprisingly loud. Apparently.

I can say that the Zalmans are excellent - I have a CNPS9500, which is inaudible at low revs, but fairly loud on high. Excellent cooling though.

The Freezer 64 is excellent for the money and very quiet.

If you want very good cooling, the Scythes are meant to be the best about. The Scythe Mine is lighter, easier to fit and gives better cooling than the Scythe Ninja, and is also very quiet (you can fit what ever fan you like to it, 7 volt and fans etc etc). OcUK don't sell it unfortunately. Google for some reviews.

The akasa evos dont come with amber fans, they come with slightly worse louder models. Go for a freezer 64 pro or scythe

the sythe looks like it will rip the socket off my mobo how heavy is it?

which is the one to go for? does the apex ultra come with a huge rad? becuase i'm new to these things where would I mount it? and does it come with a graphics card cooler, thats what i'm interested in overclocking the most, along with the cpu.

I have a 3700+ 939 at stock what do you think I will get out of it?

Yer sorry, it isn't an amber. I was thinking of the Evo 120. :(

Anyhow, the ninja is very heavy. I think you have to attach a back plate to the mobo to stop it bending. The mine is lighter though, as I said, so it doesn't need one.

Nope, the akasa evo has one that looks like an amber. spins at 2000-4000rpm compared to an amber's 1800rpm.

The ninja weighs 815g.

It's the first one out of the OcUK Catalogee, Swiftech Page.
It comes with an external mounting bracket, so you can mount it outside/behind your case.

If you've got a really big case and good handy workmanship, then you can try and have it inside your case.

radiators are normally 120mm, so 120.2 it might be a bit of a squeeze in your case. and as for your 3700 you should be able to clock to 2.8 with eaze on the Apex ultra kit
