has anybody got an opinion on these Sony MDRNC11AW.CE7 Noise Cancelling Headphones

are they any good or should i just buy a pair of ex 71's again. (mine just broke)

I know a few people never like spending more than £30 on a pair of earphones and I was the same for quite a few years, but was tired of them breaking every 6/9 months or so, so after seeking some advice on here, I took the plunge and bought some Shure E4c's for about £120, imported from the States.

Expensive you may think, but the difference in class over my old EX71's is immense and I've had them for nearly 18 months now and they're still going strong and Shure even sent me some replacement nozzle's for free last week, excellent customer service. Bear in mind, I'd have got through 2 or 3 pairs of EX71's in that time, they're not that expensive in the end.

A pair of E3c's would only set you back under £60, would sound much better than the EX71's and would last a lot longer.

cheers big kev..

just one thing think its worth getting them from the states or the uk?

i really like the sound of them (from reviews), but are they comfortable?

There are so many different sleeves that come with the phones, that at least one pair will be a perfect fit for you mate, just make sure they do right into the ear, to form a seal.

Have a look around for the right price, but bear in mind that you might be hit with import duty, although I didn't.

getting them then....

ive got a price of £118 inc delivery. from the can't mention competitors... seems quite good

if i get caught in your opinion how much will i roughly be paying for the headphones in total?

I think you'd be looking at about £140 in total mate, still cheaper than the UK though.

You might want to use the search function as well, because there are other phones out there that people prefer, I don't want you to spend this amount of dosh on my recommendation alone mate, take a look around.

i was looking at these the last time i was in the market for ear phones, last january in fact. i have been looking around at other phones aswell, reading T3 and other phones.

they seem amazing but my main reservation was the fact that they may not fit nicely, but as you said they do come with other sleeves so i cant really go wrong.

I have found them for £149 UK, so i am going to go with them. Very reputable company so sorted another worry of mine.
will be ordering them very soon

Cheers for your help some very good advice given.

***UPDATE***

while on my trip to the states i decided to invest in a pair of Shure e4c's, however i learnt that they were making a replacement suited for music which were called the Shure SE310's.

Once they arrived i plugged them into my ipod shuffle, i went straight to Muse, Citizen Erased. They sounded really different to my Sony ones. At first i couldnt get used to it but that was because i didnt know how to insert them into my ear correctly.

They came with the foam tips already on there, so i read the manual through again and realised where i was going wrong. i squeezed the ends and inserted into my ear and let them expand to create a seal.
Then i noticed the bass and quality of the song!!!

Was very impressed.

I started to get a bit uncomfortable with them in so i decided to try the different buds that were sent. However i couldnt get the original bud off! it was really hard and i was scared that if i was a bit to forceful then i would break them, i managed to get them off in the end and it was very very easy! Just hold at the tip, twist and pull.

I tried the others but found the original ones were best, so i thought i would let my ears get used to the shape of them.

The noise cancelling is amazing i could barely hear a thing outside, remember i was walking in america where they all drive loud v8s and v6s. i could just hear a very faint rumble from someone who was flooring it.

On the 10 hour flight back i could hear the rumble of the plane, not very loudly though! My music stopped most of the noise.

i used them for the in flight movies and i only needed to turn the volume up a bit, where as my bro had to turn his up 3/4 of the way up!

Build quality is really really good, not as delicate as i expected them to be. I am trying to take really good care of them as i want them to last a while

Hope my mini disjointed review was good. i would recommend people to get these as they are amazing.
