Ahh, 'Life of the Party'. Part of which was used for the T2 demo that first got me hooked. Fond memories indeed :).

Bought Thief 3 for £3 and coshed my first victim for a good few years. What a quality game.

You are right, best demo ever, I never looked forward to a game as much as Thief 2!

If I remember right wasn't the demo made with the Thief 1 engine just to give us a taste of what the levels were going to be like?

As I said before -they have my money if they make it more like Thief1/2...

RIP Looking Glass - only dev that made me look forward to installing Intel Indeo drivers...

ps3ud0

Thief 2 was the first PC game I ever bought, found it hard, perhaps what with being new to PC gaming. Remember taking it back because it kept crashing. Those were the days when you could take a game back! In actual fact it was because I was using win98 first edition arggh! Nevertheless enjoyed what I played, good graphics for the time. Have played some of the first in the series which I thought was a little better, surprisingly. Have got the third which I keep meaning to finish. Hear the cradle level is very good.

Deus Ex was awesome. Deus Ex 2 was a cheap piece of crap console game that got ported 'no frills' to the pc. I really hope that history doesn't repeat itself with 3 because I will be looking forward to it.

Bit non-plussed about T4, i didn't like the first or second one, mostly because I wanted to murder guards etc. instead of sneaking about. I guess it's not my cup of tea. Hopefully they will increase the appeal by adding abit of depth with the choices you will face.

Sadly without looking glass I doubt we will see quality products out of DX3 and Thief4 :(

Deadly Shadows was quality. City sections got repetitive later on and you could tell it was designed with the xbox in mind, but overall a worthy sequel. I just hope they dont mess up a 4th game by trying a different approach, like Ubisoft did when they ruined Splinter Cell by borking the stealth mechanics in Double Agent. If it aint broke dont fix it!

mostly because I wanted to murder guards etc. instead of sneaking about.

Thats the best thing about Thief - Trying to complete a mission by causing the least fuss and avoiding detection! Sneaky sneak.
