thieving scum!

Yesterday my dad found a Blackberry while walking the dog near a pub. He got me to text his mum (off my phone because the blackberry was locked) saying that we would hand it into the pub later today.

So later on my dad goes back to the pub and a guy who's phone it was barely said a word of thanks. When asked he said his mum got the text but they didn't bother to reply.

should have kept the damn thing. :D

At work I've returned customers phones/wallets/items of clothing etc to people, and rarely get more than a grunt in the way of thanks.

I don't think it's because people aren't thankful, I think it's more because they're embarrased at their own stupidity for leaving their stuff behind.

To some people $50,000 is just pocket change... just like you or I would keep ~£50-100 or so in our wallets.
But which corner shop would you pop into to spend $50,000? Anywhere you're going to spend $50,000 will take card or cheque.

The only reason to carry that much money around in cash would be to show it off, for the danger thrill or maybe it's a clever ploy, if some "smack head" thief robs your $50,000 he's going to have one wild night and maybe spend so much of that money on drugs he'll die.

So put it on the managers desk/counter with a note?

Well I wouldn't do that. If I picked it up to hand it in, thats what I would do. Wait untill I could hand it to someone. I wouldn't just move it from one place to another and asume responsibility for it at the same time.

they had him in the club today he claims hes got no phone so they phoned the police and he did a runner lol, coppers chased him down the street and caught him...

got knows whats going to happen now
