Thursday night this week my brothers went shopping up town in Hanley, Stoke. They're 13 & 17... don't have much cash and were buying presents for family.

They'd spent around £80 which to them is a lot of cash.. and were finishing up in Argos. They'd put the bag down (mistake, I know) to the side of them whilst they looked in the catalogue... turned around a minute or so later and the bag was gone.

All been reported to the police and Argos, apparantly Argos can't release any footage unless police request it  Police (well incident support) called up yesterday offering some kind of emotional support? Made me laugh. Although i'm not sure if they knew what the situation was, maybe they thought it could have been a violent crime.

Annoyed! Feel like battering some scum today...

Sorry to hear that :( you have to be extra carefull around Christmas to avoid this kind of thing, lesson learned. But look on the bright side it could have been much worse if you think about it your brothers are OK are they not.

I don't understand? Why don't the police just ask for the footage and sort it out, the guy blatantly was not masked

Takes the **** IMO

Feel for you :(

Most probably one of those drunken idiots who sit by the fountains all day swigging white cider. Or possibly one of those dirty homeless types who sit across the road from Argos asking everyone "got 20p for a cup of tea/busfare mate?".

They only ask you for 20p? It's usually 60p or a £1 for me. One even had the cheek to ask for a tenner!

More often than not it's either 20p or 50p, although sometimes they do try it on and ask for more like a fiver. Makes you wonder how much the scrounging buggers actually rake in, because they always seem to have more than enough booze and fags.

DPA means they have to release footage of them on it, Argos talking *****. Manager proablaby can't be bothered cutting the tape to show that.

And its Hanley, should have know better. :p

i've spoken to various people who make 40-50 quid a day or even more on good days.
