A customer wishes to replace 20 PC's which act as Thin Clients, with Think Clients. Can anyone recommend a low cost proven solution please?

Money isn't tight but they're a charity so I'd like to offer them something on the lower end of the cost scale.

They'll be connecting to a 2008 RDS server, then moving to a 2012 RDS server next year.

Dell own Wyse, so options there. HP also do a number of models.

Depending on how locked-down you want the client to be, you can buy refurbished HP SFF dc7800/dc7900 PCs with a Windows 7 Pro license for well under £100+VAT. We've got a customer who sticks a cheap 128GB SSD in them to improve the boot time.

Would have thought something like HP 260 G1's would fit the bill - small mini PC, low power draw, boot SSD included - for approx £100 including a keyboard and mouse and Windows 8.1.

From a cost perspective, thin clients don't seem to make much sense these days.

Nothing but issues with thin clients passing through attached devices etc.

Armageus's suggestion is spot on.

Thanks for the recommendations.

The client runs a training centre for ex cons so they need something that boots straight to the logon screen of the Terminal Sever.

Run 65 Axel thin clients at my work, really good, much better than the HP things we've had in the past. http://www.axel.com/uk2/

They have a very specific use case. Working in a school i find them perfect for rooms where they want something to do literally nothing more than internet + office, they can sit along doing that job for nearly 10 years so long as the servers do what they need to do.
