Hi all
I'm now looking at the 480mm alphacool NexXxoS Monsta and at 80mm I know the 900d will only let me add 4 fans so no push and pull. Am I better with a thinner rad and a push pull setup or will this thicker rad be fine?

Push/pull is only something like 1degC better than either push or pull alone, I suspect the thicker radiator will give you better performance.

You don't even really need push/pull on a monsta unless you're running very slow fans.
Fwiw, I'm running pull on a 360 monsta and push on a 240 (GT's @1000-1200rpm) and haven't seen any noticeable difference from when I had the 360 on push/pull.

If you're looking at a thinner rad, consider the fpi count and use that to decide whether push pull is necessary. Higher fpi means higher required fan speed or using push/pull to reduce the need for higher rpm.

Hope that makes sense :)

Cheers for that I actually added another 3 fans to my 360mm and did not make much difference in push/pull and cpu sits happily at 25c :) will I get much of a difference with a thicker radiator

Will I see much difference in temps between the two as I cannot find a review

I doubt it - 1/2C if that? Your CPU block is going to be more important in affecting CPU temps. a 480 radiator is going to be able to dissipate any amount of heat that a CPU can chuck at it.

You're not going to see a large difference between them.
Get whichever floats your boat :)

Me? I got Monsta's because I wanted Monsta's. Simple as that :D

Buy the monsta and use good fans that you can control. So I would advise carefully checking of spacing and if you can, get the monsta and use fans with a decent static pressure.

Right I'm going for this white 480 but only just noticed the fans I'm wanting to use are only 1500rpm noiseblocker b12bs will these suffice or would 4 of the 2000 rpm ones be better

Either one will do if you're using some kind of fan control (Mobo PWM/ separate fan controller)
You certainly won't need to run them at 2000rpm though.

hi guys last question,.
Im fitting the radiator to the top of my 900d so whats the best way for the tubing to sit, the shortest route connecting it to the radiator right above cpu or running the tubing from the the front of the pc (dry bay area)
Does the length really matter??
