Thin walled socket?

Hi,

This may sound strange but do you get sockets with a thinner wall than others of the same size? I am after a 21mm socket for my wheels but the gap for the nuts isn't the largest. The standard Mazda one touches the sides so has scraped the paint on the alloys.

When I was rifling through Amandas dads tools I found some to be thicker than others but some of the tools had been around for many decades. I'm sure they exist though.

Depends on the gap I think, some of my sockets are slightly larger than others. Not tried the Mazda one to compare though.

When I refurbished some old Mazdaspeed wheels I found none of the sockets I had were slim enough to fit in the hole. Ended up just buying some slimline nuts from DW.

I had a huge problem with this when i got my Rays Wheels & Rays Nuts, A deep reach halfords socket won this battle irrc.

yep you can get thinned walled sockets. Halfords do a good range.

Perfect, I think a trip down halfords then, especially with a trade card, should be an alright price.
