Anyone know where I can get a thin walled spark plug socket that fits a mitsubishi carisma.

tried about 6 or so and none fit down there and the usual halfords don't seem to do anything other than standard sockets..

should have taken the bore size, but I didn't.

Ah, this is the same as the FTO engine isn't it? I think you need a special tool to do it and it's why the FTO comes with plugs that last the life of the engine.

4G93 SOHC? If so I'm surprised, afaik the cylinder head is identical to the 4G92 in my colt except for the cam, and I've changed the plugs with a regular socket I got from motorworld.

Ah GDI, above post is irrelevant then. I don't know the answer to your question but I can tell you that the workshop manual for that engine does not list a special tool for plug removal.

Did you have a look at the Laser ones Halfords sell? Much narrower than even the narrow-ish walled halfords own brand 'long reach' ones.

I had to get a laser one for some deep set plugs on my kawasaki ZXR750. Much narrower than usual and slipped straight in where a usual plug socket had a couple of mm too much shoulder.
