This just started happening today, sometimes when I'm scrolling up and down a page in Chrome things seem to jump off the top of the page and get stuck there, see the (1920x1080 sized) image below:-

I'm also sometimes when scrolling down a page, seeing big blank areas which are a sort of white and grey chequer board affair until the rest of the screen sort of 'catches up' and the page fills itself in?

Only noticed this today, everything else working fine although browsing web pages seems a little slow compared to normal on certain sites. Any ideas?

Updated to latest drivers today. No change though, still doing it. Not sure what I'm doing in the Chrome flags area, anything in particular to try in there?

Are you using Chrome Stable or Beta? Chrome Stable working OK here on an Nvidia card.
You really shouldn't need to do this but try disabling these one at a time:

GPU compositing on all pages
Threaded compositing
Delegated Renderer (AKA Übercompositor)
Enable accelerated scrollable frames
Enable composited scrolling for frames

You could also try disabling all extensions and un-installing any Flash Plugins found in Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs.
