Things that once seemed normal but aren't allowed now

The plane cockpit experience, lol, I got a holiday to malta for my 21'st from the gf of the time and she asked the hostess if the pilot would let me take a look as the holiday was my 21st bday present,

I remember wondering and then asking the pilot (its not very big in here is it and where's is the 3rd guy/engineer),

so he rounded on my noobish tone telling me it was a 757 not a ww2 bomber he was flying,

twas all a jest though, two damn nice fellers up front, glad I got the chance,

not be happening again the way retarded terror ***** go screwing things up for us all, I hope all their virgins all have a raging case of eternal herpes.

Casual violence used to be pretty much accepted as part of life. Domestic violence, police brutality, gang fights, brutal initiations etc... you can't touch anybody now or you'll end up with a knife in your face or, even worse, in court.

Accidents.

They don't seem to exist anymore, they are always someone else's fault nowadays. :/

Pass the buck society, its always someone else's fault, its hard to find anyone with cast iron responsibility anymore,

oh no it happened the populous all became mp's, in all but name.

I dont generally like the police, however, thing used to be a bit better on the streets when they used to ride around In rovers and make people fall down the stairs a lot.

Agreed. Even sending reprobate kids home with a thick ear helped instil some respect.

the rhyme

eni meni minei moe
catch a ****** by the toe
if he cries let him go
....

It's now

catch a baby...

and rightly so :o

I used to live in windsor, and you had the changing of guard, where they'd all march in procession, horses, big band, everything, from the barracks to the castle, and swap over, now that's been reduced as it's seenas being aggressive show of miliatary power, and obviously a security risk, a nice target of soldiers along thin streets. was a shame, cause it was such a nice thing to watch as a 3year old kid

Coppers giving kids a clip around the ear for being cheeky.

Going to the shop to get your mam some fags.

Buying a big jar of paracetamol to save money.

A level exam papers that were actually hard.

Proper old fashioned terrorists who were after something relatively tangible.

Professional footballers who when kicked got straight back up and carried on as otherwise they would like like a nonce.

Cherry menthol boiled sweets.

People taking responsibility for their actions.

People tripping up and NOT trying to put the blame onto something else - look where the **** you are going...

Another thread on here got me thinking about the time I flew to Tenerife in the early 90's. Being my first flight I asked the cabin crew mid-flight if I could see the cockpit and was allowed to. Looking back this would never be allowed now.

So what other things used to be quite normal and are now not allowed?
Ahh I remember when I was younger (before 9/11) I was going to ask the cabin crew to let me see the cockpit - but I was too shy to ask (I was very young :p) - Missed Opportunity :( :p
