Things that once seemed normal but aren't allowed now

Going out and telling your mum that you would be back for tea, then disappearing and not returning until your belly said 'give me food'. All the time you were out of the house, not beating up a single granny or knifing anyone and your mum not knowing where on Earth you went. Great

Common sense.... this place is far too concerned with being sued for one reason or another that nobody is allowed to use common sense and must be told what to do/wear/say all the while!

Free Speech! With the PC brigade and people being so sensitive you've got to be so careful what you say and to whom.

Oh and they dont have spotted dick anymore, its been renamed spotted richard on the menu

And why the hell dont we dads get fathers day cards yet the mums get one every year :(

Spotted Dick is back on the menu :) Hooray for common sense... and I get fathers day cards :)

Playing conkers has been banned in some schools...

I used to live in windsor, and you had the changing of guard, where they'd all march in procession, horses, big band, everything, from the barracks to the castle, and swap over, now that's been reduced as it's seenas being aggressive show of miliatary power, and obviously a security risk, a nice target of soldiers along thin streets. was a shame, cause it was such a nice thing to watch as a 3year old kid

Dude I live in Windsor, by the castle. They still do this. I know 'cos it wakes me every Saturday at 11am!

Another thread on here got me thinking about the time I flew to Tenerife in the early 90's. Being my first flight I asked the cabin crew mid-flight if I could see the cockpit and was allowed to. Looking back this would never be allowed now.

So what other things used to be quite normal and are now not allowed?

Likewise first time I flew back in around 92 or so I did Gatwick->Aberdeen in a 737 and was allowed into the cockpit for 30 mins mid flight... under strict supervision I was allowed to adjust some controls as well tho to this day I have no idea/can't remember what they did. The pilots would probably get sent to jail for letting that happen in this day and age. Was one of the coolest moments of my childhood and I'd forgotten about it until I saw this thread.
