Cap guns, anyone remember those?
There used to be two main types...
The ones that took the paper rolls, 100 'shots' for 5p, an the ones that came in a plastic ring, about 45 shots for 35p! Massively expensive in comparison but they didn't jam, produced a hell of a bang and the gun smoked when they had fired
I used to go into the newsagents to get them all the time.
Also related...anyone remember those little bomb things, they were wrapped up in paper, you threw them on the floor and they banged and gritty bits came out? They came in yellow boxes of 100 I think and had sawdust filling the boxes up...can't remember the name of them at all!
*I digress from here on slightly - they aren't 'not allowed' but you just don't see them anymore...I'm on a nostalgic trip now...
Sticker cards with weird flavoured bubble gum in them...earliest I remember were Cabbage Patch Doll ones and then *thinks hard* some sort of evil cabbage patch...I can barely remember them but they were stuck all over a mates door.
The smiley sticker cards were the last ones I collected lol.
Lego that wasn't massively overpriced and wasn't all custom shaped - the most specialised shapre was a portculis for the castle set.
Action Force men (now renamed GI Joe) that didn't have to have a spring loaded weapon with every figure...the later ones were just rubbish.
The Beano not costing an arm and a leg, having good illustrations, no adverts and sometimes coming bundled with a free Drumstick or Refresher...and it was printed in two tones rather than full colour, ooh and Dennis the Menace was on the front and back cover.
